David Wrote:I took a look at my zap2it.xml file and found that there is a flag for HD programming. It would be very nice if you could add it. I'd like to see it added to the show name so that I could schedule based on the HD flag.

I understand that the flag will only be as accurate as the information from zap2it. I suspect that some programming may be HD but not flagged as such.

I can send my zap2it.xml file if that would help.
I took another look at the Zap2it XTVD schema spec and found the "hdtv" attribute. I guess I'd never noticed it since I have analog cable. I'll add an "HD" flag to EPGExtra when I get a moment.

I notice there's also a "Dolby" attribute which might be handy for people with high-end stereo sound systems. I'm also thinking of removing the "CC" flag, since GB-PVR has very limited support for closed captions, and replacing it with a flag for subtitles (for foreign language movies).

I've changed EPGExtra to display an "HD" flag if the program is designated as an HDTV broadcast in the Zap2it guide. To accommodate this without using up too much screen real estate, I've removed the CC flag. Since GB-PVR has limited support for displaying Closed Captions, I doubt if this is much use to anyone. If I'm wrong, let me know.

Could somebody test drive the new version for me? (David, perhaps?) Since I don't have digital cable, the "hdtv" attribute doesn't show up in my Zap2it.xml file. As soon as someone tells me it works, I'll upload it to the wiki as an "official" new version.

I'll try to get to this today. Thank you!

Try to kill all birds with one stone here...

After install of 97.7 and the updated X-suite, everyting works, and both EPGExtra and I-xmltv work separately (haven't tried them together yet), however they cause an error immediately after updating the EPG.
I traced the error to something i-xmltv was adding to the PostEPGUpdate.bat
Since deleting the .bat (don't need it anyhow), everything is working in i-xmltv.
I am now incorporating EPGExtra into the mix, to see if gbpvr still writes the Zap2it.xml file, and it's read properly, so the information will appear.

I just wanted you to be aware of the error, in case it was something EPGExtra was doing (it's not).
I'll let you know if I can get both playing well with other children Wink

reboot,
I-xmltv does not add anything to, or use in any way, PostUpdateEPG.bat

I think the X-suite does use PostUpdateEPG.bat and may add some lines to it. I haven't got it installed right now (still catching up with plugins post 97.x conversion) so I can't check the details. reboot did mention the X-suite as being related to his problem so perhaps.....
In any case, both I-xmltv and EPGExtra appear to be innocent of all charges.:p

I stand corrected. It was X-Suite, of which I only use findfast (X-search).
The mistake I made was installing both at the same time Smile

Sorry it took so long. I have tested it, but I do not see any entries that have the HDTV info added to them. I use the Web Admin search and search title, subtitle and description. Nothing. I've also looked at a few shows that I think should be marked as HD. I have not tried to decode my zap2it.xml file to identify a show that should have the flag. Also, I am only asking for the HD infor to be added. Seems that the Web Admin already shows everything else.

My log is attached.

Edit: I went to zap2it and checked my local TV listings. Chanel 7 4:00 news should be HD (per their web site). I checked in GBPVR (PC and Web Admin) and see nothing to indicate that.

I'm not quite sure what you are saying. Web Admin reads the zap2it.xml file to add attributes to its program guide display. EPGExtra also reads the zap2it.xml file but to add attributes to the GB-PVR program guide display. But the two applications have nothing to do with each other apart from that. Presumably, if you have programs flagged as HDTV in your copy of zap2it.xml, they should show up in both displays. If you see some programs shown as HD in Web Admin but not in GB-PVR then that would indicate that EPGExtra has a problem. Since neither app is showing this, it seems likely that you don't have the flag in your xml file. You can open the file in Wordpad (or anything else that displays xml text) and do a find on "hdtv" to check this.

I have plenty of these in my zap2it.xml file: hdtv='true'

I do not see any indication in either GBPVR or the Web Admin, so assume my EPG listings are not being updated by EPGExtra. The HDTV flag was the only one I asked for. Do I need to empty my EPG first? There may not have been anything new added.
