Just my two cents - I like the blue, but keep the red around for when I get bored and want to mix it up a bit, so user control sounds a like a great idea.

Thanks Big Grin

thanks for the support

work Sad, and I am getting married, so my office is strewn with wedding stuff.

I have not really had time to work on it (sorry) I think I am going to have to start over with alot of it, it does not want to work on my PCH, and I have no idea why.

if anyone is ambitious and wants to work on it, I would be happy to provide the files.

Hi Ted,

First of all congratulations on your marriage and I hoop you had a nice party.
A day you will never forget.

If you got the time again ...is it possible to make the horizontal menu for this skin?
I'm think it one of the best skins till now. But I moved one to the latest version, where the only one working "sassari" skin is the red one 4:3.
And I like the bleu one in 16:9.
If you can help me with this it would be nice.

Thx for the hard work and time you but in this project.

Regards

Thanks, the wedding was pretty good, and I honestly don't remember that much of the reception... too many people to talk to, too little time.

horizontal... no, sub has not fully implemented it yet, you can get something resembeling a horizontal skin, but it does not play well with the widescreen version of sassari (it takes the whole screen leaving nothing on the right side there where there was a sidebar for other stuff)

You can very easily modify the color of the skin, Just change the background color in baseskin.xml, as for the buttons, there is a background color that you can open in a simple photo editor (paint.net) and fill in the shape with whatever color you want, just make sure to put the transparency back to something like 50% after filling in the color.

To be completely honest, I am not so sure I want to keep fighting to develop this skin myself, I keep finding that I just dont have the time (I liked it much better when I was just improving someone elses work).
I am thinking of just working on the community skin, making it's version of sassari look closer to the original, and maybe some other random improvements.

Ted,

Is the “Nuoro” skin not with a horizontal menu?
I like that one to but it is for an older version .It looks cool but not all the plug-in will work that I use. And again it’s not 16:9.

The last update you sent of “sassari” skin is also 4:3 and in red I think … but it works on the last version ;o)
I will give it a try to change the colors…
Is it easy to change him in 16:9?

Is there a easy Guide Step by Step to make skins? So I can change it my self.
How easier it is the more Dev. You will find

Thanks for your tip I will give it a try…

there is no longer a difference between 16x9 and 4x3 skins, they all get rendered based on your actual resolution.

I dont think there is a guide anywhere for general skinning, I know they had been working on one for the community skin. I suggest just taking a look at baseskin.xml and seeing what you can figure out. let me know if you have any problems.

Just a heads up for all of you,

I have decided that I am going to make some improvements to the community skin, as I have seen numerous people using the images from Sassari in it... and its not pretty Sad

I think it is more likely to produce a final working version of the skin, and means less development work for me (and more tweaking, which is what I really like to do)

I apologize for my complete inability to finish the standalone version of the skin.

I would rather have sassari in what ever way you want to produce it than not have it at all, I cant wait to see how the community skin version comes out.
Thanks for all your hard work
