sassari v0.1 released - 16:9-skin

released it on the wiki. the zip contains an installer which installs the font and the skin and a little application to switch from glossy icons to flat and back. all this app does, is replace the skin.xml-files in photo/music/video library with the included skin-flat.xml or skin-glossy.xml.

so be careful in editing the skin-files: they may be overwritten by this application. it is better to change skin-flat.xml and skin-glossy.xml and run the app.

so all you have to do is run the installer and configure gbpvr to use the new skin.

sorry, i didn't follow the whole thread, it was just too much for me, as i am not a native english speaker. the biggest problem i see is non-uniform skinning of plugins + plugins which are hard to skin. thats all. if every plugin would work like the core plugin now do it would be much easier to skin them. looking at mediaportal, there are dozens of xml-files to skin, but every skin supports nearly every plugin.

we have a few possibilities:
- incorporate very good plugin features into the core plugins (like imdb search)
- define standards for plugin design (not skin design)
- let the users contribute to skins by sharing photoshop-files and so on.

i hope, you meant that discussion with "standard plugin skin suggestion" ;-)
if not, forgive me...

concerning the screensaver: thanks for pointing that out, i will fix it soon.

Found a missing button in error message popup.....when clicking on DVD with no DVD in slot.

Perhaps add something like this to main menu.

Like the skin very, very much but keep getting an error. Is it possible it's a plugin problem? Meaning, could a plugin cause this error?

depends on the plugins you are trying to use. sometimes it is not enough to just deactivate the plugin, you have to delete it from the plugin-directory.

I love this skin. It looks great on my 42" widescreen. I've got a couple of requests.
First, I've attached a screenshot of the mini-guide description getting cutoff. Second, would it be possible to show the status (failed, ready, pending) of the recording above the date in the recording screen?

this is a bug, i cannot do anything about it. post the picture in the support forums and ask sub ;-) the live-guide pulls the popup from the tvguide-xml-file where it is set to 1280x720.

concerning the recordings-screen: i'll have a look, there may be an error in the skin...thanks!
