I think formatting should be user selectable. Via brackets. For example the user has a text box where they have show whatever they want; for example:
[Date][StarRating][TVRating][Description][Cast][AV]

And then we do search and replace on those so people can decide what order it is.

For the previously showen I like the idea of the * (or any user customizable character/text) in the title.

And yea, from what i've seen with SD and Yahoo we need to scrape episode numbers.

The latest version, yet to be posted, lets the user select the order of the tag. Also, there are several items that can be placed in the Categories section of the TV Guide details...

I tried something other than the * and GB-PVR ends up messing up. It Creates different folders to contain the recording. ( "The Simpsons {new}" would go into a folder "The Simspons {New}" But an Asterix gets completely ignored so all recording for "The Simpsons *" gets stored in 'The Simpsons' folder...)

North American EPG users seem to have more accurate "previously-shown" data, so using it as a New Show Indicator is possible, though not always probable, as the DTD states that it can't be counted on...

I was wondering if anyone else has an idea. In one guide source from UK, new shows are indicated in the <premiere>Not a repeat</premiere>

As far as the scraper, I think it would be great, as suggested earlier, to scrape the whole season guide for a whole show, and store it locally in an ini or xml, so that during EPG Enhancement and Update, the EpNum is included from the beginning

I don't think I will be able to get on that project for a while.

(Currently, this doesn't have any specific identifying strings - will need to manually select New Show Detection)

---

I need the Opening Tag for a few XMLTV files, please...

Code:
eg: <tv source-info-url="http://tvguide.org.au/" source-data-url="http://minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/xmlguide.pl" generator-info-name="Monsters OzTivo Extreme Grabber" generator-info-url="http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/">

Schedules Direct, Downlowed natively in GB-PVR
Shedules Direct using the I-XMLTV SD method (xmltv.exe)
CT.pvr

Preferably, I'd like actual full files for these too. PM me and I'll let you have my hotmail address.

Zehd, I tried it out last night and it looks really cool and does exactly what I want. However, I have some comments/refelections/wishes.

1. Why can I not append Ep OnScreen to desc? Is the display of ep no in some way supported by GBPVR?

2. The "Writer" tag is missing from the Credits section

3. As I think Oz referred to I would like to choose literal for all tags to be appended to the desc and the option to have carrige return after each. Today my XML parser solution does the following:

Code:
Description: Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Directed by: Zzzzz Yyyyy
Writer: Oooo Pppp
Actors: Kkkk, Ggggg, Wwww
Aspect: 16:9
Year: 1999

4. For many shows I have 2 genre tags. For example Movie, Comedy or Serie, Drama. I want the option to combine these.

5. For automatization, will it be a command line option or will it be some preprocessing step in the EPG loading?

Let me know what you thinks or if you have questions.

I have worked out several of your wishes already. Adding a carriage is interesting and I will try it out. I did not add a writer entry, because I didn't see the need. It's easy to add that. Currently I thorw away the episode numbers, as in many cases the information is not useful (I don't know what the data means! Rolleyes) I will add that though.

I have lots more to do, but the tough part is done. In GB-PVR, multiple categories already display together. I can send other info I find to either the Categories line, or the Description tag. You just have to say where you want it...

Give me a bit more time and I will have another release. And yes, it will be automated...

Cool, it works perfectly for me in my current solution.

Its just since I have the tag, I would like to have the option to use it. Not really a must have though.

Thanks, for me its really useful information. It contains info about the episode and season, i.e., "Part 2 of 12, Season 3" Wink

I need to check when I get home but I thought GBPVR just picked the first genre. I could be wrong and confuse it with genre colours where the colour is picked by the first genre.

Many thanks, just wanted to give my first impressions.

If you see genre colours, then you don't seem to be using the default TV Guide. What are you using?

yea, i don't have genre colors.

Frank, what about doing it how I did it with yapi2xml where it took the air date and decided if it was new or not depending on how many days from the day it'll be playing is, my default was 4 days. Do all the sources not have the <date> tag?

I am using TVListings plugin by Alibert. Hence, the genre colours. You were right about genres in GBPVR, both are displayed and I think TVListings base the color on the first genre.

I've added a few more features.

The UI is still a little messy but it's working pretty good. Thanks all for your xml files...

Again, if there are others that want to be sure their xmltv is working with the GUI, send me a PM and then you can email me the file...

You can now have it auto run from your updateepg.bat... Here's what my batch looks like...

Code:
@echo off

rem http://minnie.tuhs.org/tivo-bin/tvguide.pl?page=preferences&type=view
rem http://minnie.tuhs.org/twiki/bin/view/TWiki/TWikiRegistration

Rem .
Rem   Get Guide Data from OzTivo
Rem .

OzTivoExtreme.exe

copy C:\WINDOWS\EHome\BladeRunnerPro\GuideData\xmltv.xml ..\OzTivo-xmltv.xml
copy ..\OzTivo-xmltv.xml ..\xmltv.xml

rem  The line below is what you could add assuming that you're using the same paths

[B]c:\epg\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer.exe "c:\epg\xmltv.xml"[/B]

Edit: having trouble with uploading the zip. Will try soon
