It should have just used whatever settings you had before. If your config.xml (or send it to me at jefflmailbox-gbpvr@yahoo.com) I can see what it is configured to do.

Jeff

I have gone thru the config several times and all seems to be as it was. I've sent the config file to you. I hope you see something. Is it possible it's a skin problem and i need to update something there?

Thanks for looking, it's appreciated!

Jeff:

I'm not exactly sure why, but the VAPanel is working correctly today. I can't explain it. I didn't have a lot of time over the weekend to fool with it but the only difference i can see is there are more scheduled recordings in the line up. Yesterday there was only one in the 24 hour period i have it set at Today there are 4 scheduled recordings.

I don't know if the number of scheduled recordings would make a difference or not but it's the only thing i see, unless of course it fixed itself overnight. Smile In that case, great plug-in, self diagnosing, self repair. Nice job Smile

Am I the only one to see the main menu's responsiveness slow down a LOT when the VAPanel is in use (happens with BlueMCE2 and Xmedia-LE skins)?

I can't say that's something I've noticed yet. I'm using the fat blue Hi Res skin. I've customized it a bit to reduce clutter and make it simple to use and read. The only thing i do notice is once i start the MVP the first minute of operation is on the sluggish side, after that it's just fine. No idea what it's doing for that first minute, reading files or whatever but after that seems as peppy as the MVP is going to ever get.

Can you check on the VA panel again? I have changed the way it handles images, which should reduce the meory usage. other than that, the only performance impact I can see it having is based on the cyctle rate that you choose for panel messages. The default is to show the next message in the que every 10 seconds, which means the code will be ding slightly more processing every 10 seconds. You can try changing the rate to see if it has any impact.

I'll check again tonight... The sluggishness doesn't seem to be CPU related. CPU is more or less idle, but it seems the main menu only refreshes every 3 or 4 seconds when I have VAPanel on. It happens both on the MVP and when I fire up GBPVR on the PC directly
Will try again and adv. I'll also try to leave GBPVR on for 10 minutes and see if the problem disappears after a while.

well, I can't see the slow response tonight, but I noticed that gbpvr locks up when I return to the main screen after watching a recorded show...
I'll try to reproduce the bugs tomorrow, and eventually fallback to try to diagnose a bit better.

OK with the newer version of Video Archive, when I plays videos and try to return to the main screens, it sends GBPVR.exe in a 100%CPU utilization state. Nothing clears it, I have to manually kill the process.

It doesn't happen if I just enter and exit the VideoArchive window, but only when I enter, play, then exit back to Video Archive (at this point it still works fine and I can play another video if I want) then try to return to the main menu.
The whole screen freezes on the Video Archive window, CPU goes to 100% constant, and I have to kill it

Doesn't happen when I play the same videos through Xrecord, it didn't happen before the upgrade, and that's the only thing I changed (didn't upgrade GBPVR yet) so it's definitely linked to the latest VideoArchive version...

Any clue at how I can help troubleshoot that? Is there a log I can post?

EDIT: more diagnosing
- it also happens on the MVP
- it happens only with specific skins: the latest Flat Blue High visibility and Xmedia LE. It works fine with default blue skin and BlueMCE2.

It could be the VAPanel again, since it's displayed on those 2 skins main page...

Zip up the logs files in your jeff subdirectory and the main gbpvr.exe.log file and email them to me at jefflmailbox-gbpvr@yahoo.com and I can take a look.

By the way Jeff, it looks like in the last version, VA doesn't erase all the comskip files anymore. I thought you had corrected it in a previous version...
I still see the files with extension .csv, .logo.txt and .wme
Only the .txt and the .log seem erased
