@inabsentia

Are you sure it's not the Elecard MPEG1/2 decoder? Can't see the need of an encoder for DVB since it's already MPEG2...

Best regards!

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (normanr @ Feb. 24 2005,13:25)]source is all the source code for people who want to know how it works, and to change what happens.  copying and install and readme are purly information files, read them :-)

I did read the README and Install files, but the COPYING just came up as an unknown file type

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]btw: if you get error messages, try and post the .log files from whatever you were doing at the time (eg gbpvr, recordingservice or config), they help tons.

OK,  started from scatch again- this time I used your V7 files, and copied them all into the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr folder.  Went through the config, chose the capture card (which showed up ok) chose the sound capture device (My sound card, soundblaster 128-which again showed up) and then chose the input which is the line in (Which again showed up). Went on and set the music and video folders (Work just fine) and then tried to set the DVD up as well-I used the right drive letter, but all I get when I try to play a disc back is blank screen.

When I then try to go to live TV I first get

Error: Could not find audio capture device!

If I then close that error message and try live TV again, I get

Error:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I've attached what I hope is one of the logfiles you meant the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe file (seems there are 4 of each of these saved, I've sent the most recently timed one). If this isn't the right one, or you need more, let me know and I'll post them (For future reference, are they better as an attachment or in the message body text?).

Again, thanks for your time and patience.

copying is also just a text file (for some reason the .txt extention is often left off, nevermind i'll add it as standard in future).

Okay i have to admit that the livetv not working was a slight oversight on my part. I store the audio selection as <card>!<input>. Can you see the problem with the SB Live card here? (that's right we have an extra!. So it thinks the card is 'SB Live' and the input is ' Wave Device!Line-In'. I'll have to seperate the fields out into seperate fields in the registry. Check for build 8 next week [Image: smile.gif]

I'm fairly sure the 'object ref not set' error is either because of the previous error, or it's the same error I get sometimes. The error is burried in the gbpvr log file (or perhaps in the gbpvr-native log). It's something that sub needs to look at.

The difference between body text versus attached makes is attached is much cleaner. (and you only see 'scary' text if you ask for it). It also makes it easier to read long lines [Image: tounge.gif]

Not sure about the DVD. I'd (wild) guess that some codes are not installed right. I havn't watched a DVD in GB-PVR yet.

No problem-I'm always a bit wary about forcing 'unknown' file types to open, though I just tried it using notepad and it opened just fine!

Yes, I can see what you mean about SB Live! (!!Wink-I guess that answers the question why, when using the earlier build I could actually get to see the picture when going via the EPG, and clicking on view (If you recall, I asked at that stage how to configure the channels on the epg with the tuner). In the meantime, I'll go back and see if I can replicate that.

Many thanks- and looking forward to build 8 [Image: biggrin.gif]

Here is build 8. Again more clear debugging messages and some failure cases are just logged and ignored. Should fix the SB Live! issues, and maybe fix the wierd config issues.
