Yes, and the path needs to be exactly the same on the client and server. ie, if your recording path on the server is d:\myvideos, the d:\ on the client will have to mapped to exactly the same location as d:\ on the server. (yes, this is pain in the bum if you've been recording on your C: drive up until now....)

Remember, this is not designed to do this, you'll just have to live with these few awkward requirements.

OK, still comming up with nothing, I have my E: drive mounted on my laptop so it shows up just like i am sitting at the server. Here are my two config lines:

<RecordingServiceLocation>tcp://207.246.177.226:7968/RecordingRemote</RecordingServiceLocation>

<DatabaseConnectionString>Provider=Microsoft.Jet.O LEDB.4.0;Data Source="\\207.246.177.226\gbpvr\gbpvr.mdb";User Id=admin;Password=</DatabaseConnectionString>

The mdb file is shared and working, and so is the E. I set up in my client to record to E:/Recordings to see if that would make a diff but it didnt. Anything else you can think of? When i run the client it still acts like as if its a fresh install without any kind of capture source or anything else.

Thanks
Kyle

e:/recordings or e:\recordings? if you set the path to \\207.246.177.226\recordings\ (and share the folder) does it help?

I dont understand what you want me to try.

On my server I have an E: drive and inside that drive i have a folder called Recordings.

On my laptop I have the E drive on my server mapped to E: on my laptop, and i can access the Recordings folder from my laptop.

It seems like my laptop isnt pulling the recording info from the other computer. I still see no recordings when i am in the GB program.

I had a brainwave this evening: You can use a mapped drive, because a network map is only for the current user, and the gbpvr recording service runs as the system user. So either change the user the recording service runs as (via service in administration tools), or you have to enter the full network path as a unc share, aka: \\server\share\etcetc.
