Ok, maybe I'll give it a bit more thought then. Perhaps it's possible to merge AudioAdjust and ReClockOrNot into a single plugin. It would help if sub could make the renderers available via the API (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...=renderers).

I really need to get back to Videos+ as well though. It hasn't had any attention since August...

+1 for the "music audio renderer" option in config.xml.

I've looked at other media centre software (which you have to pay for) and it offers different audio outputs for music and video. There are quite a lot of people using it this way so I'm not sure how niche it is. Audiophiles seem to recommend this alternative quite a lot solely because of the bit-perfect music output options and computer audio is really starting to take off now with new dacs coming out every few weeks.

Sadly this alternative software seems a bit rubbish for TV (esp in the UK with Freesat HD and Freeview HD) which is what my family use the box for most plus I've developed an emotional (I believe rational) attachment to GBPVR/nPVR. At the moment I use foobar for lossless FLAC files but it looks pants and is clunky.

I tried the switch default a while back and it just annoyed my wife when she pressed it by mistake and couldn't watch Hollyoaks.

Pretty please. :-)

To get a plugin that changes the renderer based on file extension currently needs more than just a music audio renderer option (which would help, but isn't actually essential). There is no notification for music playback *before* the graph is built at the moment, so I can't make it work just now. Sub would need to add something similar to the BUILDING_GRAPH event that exists for video and DVD playback.

Just wanted to mention that the MusicMonkey plugin will allow you to do this. You do have to install another program (MediaMonkey) but you can use the free version and it will allow you to select any audio output for music playback as well as different output types (WASAPI, DirectSound, etc.). This is how I use it: HDMI audio output for video playback in NPVR and optical spdif output for music playback via the plugin.

Or could it be based on which which menu option you go through ie Music vs Video

Edit: will have a look at Media Monkey thanks

In the next release I've added the ability to specify a different audio renderer to used for music.

Thanks sub. Any chance you could throw in the BUILDING_GRAPH stuff too (just so it's there), and maybe expose the renderers list via the API too (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...enderers)?

Yes, I added the BUILDING_GRAPH too.

I'm not quite sure where to put the API to get the renderer list. It doesnt really fit in with the other API.

It looks out of place to me, but I've added a GetAudioRendererList() to the IPluginHelper interface for the next release.
