I did a complete re-install of the new NPVR and am still having the same problems with the back to back recordings on Fox only.

I first noticed it last Monday with back to back 1 hour shows. The first show recorded but the skip forward/back did not work when trying to play in NPVR. File was playable in VLC and media player classic and I could skip around using the time bar. The second recording just created a 3.5 Mb file that was unplayable. I was not setup yet to collect the logs for these recordings.

Tonight, I recorded the 4 half hour shows from 8-10. The first 3 shows recorded correctly (which is different from my last time where only the first show recorded properly) but the last show from 9:30-10 just created the 3.5 Mb unplayable file. I have attached the logs and tswriter file below for tonight.

Throughout the week I have recorded single Fox shows and they have all recorded properly but they all seemed to have skip problems. I have had no other skip problems with any shows from any other channels.

I noticed no problems with anything when I switched back to GBPVR when these problems first started. Was using it up to about 2 weeks ago.

Any ideas?

This has now happened on another channel, not just limited to the one channel.

Can you apply this patch: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post431238, and post the logs again next time it happens.

Tonight something different but still odd happened. All are half hour recordings on the same channel, ABC HD which broadcasts 720P. All recordings done with HDHR.

8:00-8:30 The Middle, Timeline appears correct during playback but at around the 4 minute mark it skips ahead last 4 minutes of the show. Appears to have only recorded about 8 minutes total. File size is 267MB.
8:30-9:00 Suburgatory, Timeline appears correct and playback is fine. File is 1.76GB.
9:00-9:30 Modern Family, Timeline appears correct and playback is fine. File is 1.97GB.
9:30-10:00 Happy Endings, Timeline appears correct and playback is fine. File is 1.76GB.

I applied the above patch and included the TSWriter text file in the logs zip.

Fox just happens to be the channel that was giving me the problem where I lose the ability to skip fwd/back. Most notably, it would happen during a clip change (usually when the feed switches from national to local) I disabled Fox on the HDHRs so that it would record on other tuner and so far, I've not had any skip problems. I did have the problem once on a different channel but it only happened the once. I suspect that there is something in the Fox streams that are causing the HDHR to hiccup. I need to run more tests to narrow it down to the device or the network traffic though.

As for your other problem of the missing sections, do you have the Dynamic Tuner Allocation feature enabled in the HDHR setup? If so, try disabling it.

whurlston, I don't know if you read the whole thread but back here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post423425 I checked the sample and there was no PMT in the mux, just raw a/v streams. Is that some filtering in the HDHR or is it the broadcast stream?

Interesting that you are having problems with Fox too, most of my problems are with Fox recorded shows. No problems if I switch back GBPVR so that lead me to believe the problem is with NPVR. The new problems with ABC do not happen all the time. I will see if disabling the Dynamic Tuner Allocation fixes that problem.

No I didn't read the whole thread. The filtering could be caused by the HDHomeRun Setup. Depending on the application/method specified in that program, it might be filtering to only the elementary streams. I'm not in front of a machine with the HDHR software at the moment but the setup should be set to either "GB-PVR" or "ATSC/QAM Other" to allow sub to control the filtering. I think they might have added an "NPVR" option recently too.

After changing to the new NPVR option in the HDHR setup and unchecking Dynamic Tuner Allocation, I have had 3 successful nights of back to back recordings on Fox. Unfortunately I had a problem last night with a single half hour show on ABC.

8:30-9:00 Cougar Town, file size 234MB, playback in NPVR shows a timeline of 33:00 minutes but in reality the show is only 4 minutes long and just stops. Playback in MPC shows the correct time of around 4 minutes.

Any ideas from these logs?

Bump

This problem continues to happen with single shows on ABC now. It happened last night and tonight. I was around to see that the lights on the HDHR continued to light and there appears to be no interrupt in the logs.

2/27 Castle 10:00-11:00
2/28 Cougar Town 8:30-9:00

The files have no more than 4 minutes of playback, mostly less. But the Timeline when playing back in NPVR shows the full time of what the recording was supposed to be.

Is there any extra logging I can do? I have applied the patch from earlier in the thread.
