Sykor Wrote:You said you tried viewing NPVR's _recordings_ with VLC, but I didn't read any mention of trying the tuners with another software. I lost count to the number of times I lose hours troubleshooting something only to discover that the "that works, so no need to check there" was where the problem lied.

NPVR (supposedly) works with AF9015 based tuners (I use one as a substitute of my fried usb Nova-T), and I don't have any of the issues you're reporting. That's not to say that NPVR can't be the culprit. Just that it's odd that both are failing the same way...

Both tuners do recordings fine with their "own" software. Other is AF9015 based, and second is not.
Will see, what TuneTwice do for next scheduled recordings...

Since sub suspects the problem is driver related, try the drivers from ITE itself (if you're not using those). I posted a link to them in another thread.

I have WinXP, and I have tested all driver sets available for AF9015. And the other pc, which have non AF9015 based tuner, do exactly same failing behaviour. Fortunately, mostly not the same time. But sometimes
both fails with same recording, and it is very annoying.

Ok, Doctor Who failed again. First scheduled recording after "tunetwice" setting.

Are you 100% sure the XP DVBFix update installed correctly for you??
What are the tuners in the other PC??

I have installed DVBfix, but 100% sure... How could I?
Other tuner is Winfast DIB7700.

You could search the PsisDecd.dll files on your system to make sure it is the old one. Service packs can update it which is why the Mediaportal directions change the location http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/thread...s-xp.6344/ However the symptoms seem more to be crashes and short files and not rated to poor signal which seems to be your problem.

It is not poor signal issue. I can use any other tv or tuner in this antenna network, while Npvr should be do recording. If I hit "restart recording service", it starts recording just after restart, if there is sheduled
recording time then.

Testing now newest Mediaportal software. Sorry to say, but all annoying playback problems are gone, will see how recording works in longer period.
No any FF/REV problem, no everyday playing with video decoders and delays, no audio sync problems and dvb-subtitles work as they should.
