Sounds like you have an S-Card instead of an M-Card.

Greetings,
Running Win8-64 on laptop, went through NPVR install with no problems, HDHomeRun works with WMC OK.
After selecting LiveTv, it sits there for about 2 minutes then get this (attached). What am I missing? Channels scanned OK and it is not used for record at the time. Also the file that it supposed to have recorded has 0 bytes. NextPVR, NPVR Services Control and NTray all have access through Firewall.
Grateful your advice.

Most likely cause is the firewall. Make sure NRecord.exe and NDigitalHost.exe also have firewall permission.

I had that exact same setup on my devices screen for my prime. I'm currently only using the prime although I do have a home run. But Cox in my area runs the qam stations I'm interested in the 2000 range as hd channels so I don't need the home run. I was having trouble with the "no connect" problem and solved it by deleting the two excess prime tuners listed and then moving the prime tuners to the top of the list. Don't ask me why that works, but for me it solved my recording problems.

Thank you for your quick reply.
Your suggestion did fix the record problem. Live Tv seems to time out with the same message as previous. Once I was successful with LiveTv, where while it was recording on one tuner, it stayed connected on the other tuner with good LiveTv. Seems to me that it may be a timing problem, as the LED on the HDHR tuner go out after about 12 seconds while in Live Tv and NO Tv and get message, but when it is in record the tuner LED stays solid and get good recording.
In summary it records OK, but still problems with LiveTv.
Grateful your advice

@ 4thrs: On NPVR's Settings -> Misc page under Live TV Buffer, have you selected a Buffer Directory? The default is C:\Temp, but if no such directory exists, you must either create it or select another directory. Do not put the Buffer in a Users directory, although I suppose Public would work.

I also wonder what decoder is selected for MPEG2 Video on NPVR's Settings -> Decoders page? I'm not sure about Australian audio formats, but while tuned to a channel you could right-click and move mouse pointer to Audio Stream, where "Track 1 [format]" should tell you what type of decoder is needed.

Confirm Buffer Directory is present at C:\Temp, have seen dot Ts files in it.
Decoders settings as per attached, and Audio Stream , Track 1 is Mpeg1(eng).

There was an extremely similar thread last month: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ing-live-t

Unfortunately, sub was baffled by the problem. In the last post, member chaosmstr mentioned the LAV Video Decoder, which has a bad reputation on the forum. I know sub has said that it is unsuitable for h.264 with NPVR, but he has also said that Australian TV hasn't adopted h.264. (Neither has the U.S., although it's used in many DVB countries, especially for HD.) Is the LAV Video Decoder working well for playback, particularly of HD recordings? [Edit] Try an experiment: Set MPEG2 Video to Disabled, set MPEG1 Audio to Microsoft, restart NPVR Service, then see if you can get live TV audio without the "tuner required for a recording" message. Perhaps you should also post your logs as described in the other thread.

Certainly last month's thread is very similiar to mine. It will be nice to know how it was rectified. As sggested, have Disabled MPEG2 Video and set MPEG1 Audio to Microsoft. Going to live Tv, no message "Tuner req....", tuner stayed on solid, audio came on instantaniously with (no video). Selecting any other MPEG1 Audio to any other settings produced the same results. Setting MPEG2 Video to any other settings (not Disabled) produced the problem. Using NPVR for playback is too slow. Takes about two minutes before file starts to play, so I use VLC.
Your help is much appreciated.
