I'm trying to setup Nextpvr for the first time with Vaders and having the same problems mentioned by others above. I downloaded the patch but can't seem to get the Nextpvr service to stop so I can install it. I get the message that "the service can't be stopped at this time", or something of that nature. I'm not a real tech savvy guy. What I know about iptv and setting this stuff up I have learned from digging around on the internet, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to just run the 'Stop NPVR Service' shortcut, drop the new nshared.dll into c:\program files (x86)\NPVR (replacing existing file), then run the 'Start NPVR Service' shortcut. If it's not letting you do those steps, try rebooting first before doing them.

I was able to get the service stopped and install the patch. I was then able to successfully import the channel list. But now when I select the guide, the channel list is there but there is no info on any channel. And if I select live tv, I get the message "unable to communicate with recording service".

When you imported your channels, did you specify both the m3u and xmltv urls? Did you try hitting the 'update epg' button on the Settings->Channels screen.

Did you remember to run 'Start NPVR Service'?

Have you restarted the recording service? Or better still rebooted the computer.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I did enter both the urls for the channel list and the guide. When I update the guide, it just seems to be stuck at "checking for any xmltv listings". I tried to run Start NPVR Service but everytime I do I get the message "unable to start service. Recording service not found on computer". It's probably something simple that I'm missing. But like I said before, I am definitely the weak link in the chain here. I know enough about what I'm doing to be dangerous.

Did you give it a few minutes - some of these IPTV providers are pretty slow for downloading the EPG. (and if you've got slow internet, that'll be a factor too)

You'll probably need to reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs.

I was finally able to get the epg to download. I think you were right. I was probably just not patient enough. But I still get the unable to communicate with recording service messave when I try to watch something. I will give it a rest now a d tinker with it some more later. Thanks for the help.

Ok, so I decided to try this again before I leave for work. Everything seems to look as it should now, as far as the guide showing the correct info and the client communicating with the server. However, whenever I select a channel to watch I get the message "unable to communicate with recording service". As I mentioned before, I'm not the most computer literate person and I'm picking a lot of this up as I go, so please be patient. I'm sure it's something simple that I probably just haven't done or done correctly. I have attached my logs for you to have a look at.

Also, I forgot to mention I'm using the android app on Nvidia Shield as the client. I'm not sure if that matters or not but thought I'd throw it in there. That end seems to be working, though.
