Try setting it to 576 lines and then viewing it directly (i.e. without going back into the config screen). I'd like to know if the view mode will accept the dud values. (I think you said it didn't before, but I'd like to triple check)

btw: do you get a bazillion duplicate items in the color space drop down?

Yes there were many duplicate items. The most disturbing ones wre not obvious things like RGB32, RGB24, YUY2 etc but had curly brackets and long numbers like i.e approximately {12430987423sljnsd34198342a} etc. Not a format I immediately recognised:-) The list had many groups of repeated colourspace options.

I just tried changing the line number in xml file to 576. Then ran LiveTV and got a picture. So then ran graphedit and linked to remote graph and there was the GBPVR graph and video format was RGB24 at 25Hz and picture size was 720x576.

So the viewing part of your fine app is now OK but the setting part is too choosey.

Serious progress. Many thanks.

I wish I could say the same. After installing v20, there is no difference. The graph that gets generated is the same as before.

- no video
- only sputtering for audio
- graph shows no video encoder
- While graph is running, I can't add my hardware encoder. Am I supposed to be able to do that?

I guess I'll have to wait for sub to get my card natively supported.

Can someone send me a screenshot of a graph that works?

Thanks for the try.

Do you re-open the config dialog and re-save the settings? (It would be required, because it needs to detect the pin categories). Can you send the log files generated when you do this too, thanks.

Here is every log that got generated. I erased all log files, then opened the config, save config, then tried to run live tv.

This might be a dumb question, but is Live TV supposed to work? Or can I just record? All the testing I have been doing to just using Live TV.

Well to answer part of my own question, I retract my original statement. Recording does work. It's just LiveTV doesn't. If LiveTV isn't supposed to work and recording has been working for me since the beginning, then I feel like an idiot. :o

So, for my card using the Software Recorder plugin:

recordering: ok
livetv: not

There is one thing I noticed, I'm not sure how to describe it. The dimensions of the recorded video are different from playback. When I play the mpg file in WMP, it plays in 4:3, but in BGPVR it gets squashed. What can I do to fix this?

Sorry for all the confusion.

Greg

PS: Sub, not sure what I am loosing using this plugin compared to native support.

No the category fix I made would only affect Recording, and not LiveTV in Preview Mode. So the old version would not work for you. You can choose to not use Preview mode for LiveTV in the config app. That will make LiveTV work, i.e. it'll automate the recording/playing operations for you.

sub, how are you hooking up the pins in preview mode? is there a requirement that the pins have a category of a certain type? (like CATEGORY_CAPTURE/CATEGORY_PREVIEW vs AM_KSCATEGORY_AUDIO/AM_KSCATEGORY_VIDEO)

In GB-PVR you can choose your aspect ratio (with F7 i think).

probably only choosing the compression settings.

Turning off preview mode works for me. I can see TV.

F7 doesn't seem to do anything. But, neither does the miniguide. When I try to bring up the miniguide, I get a small pause. It is acting as if it is up, but not displaying. When I press an arrow key the channel doesn't change which means the miniguide is running but not visable.

Also, something isn't right with the channel change. I know it is supposed to be slow, but 10 seconds to change a channel. Sometimes, it freezes up or seems that way because t took a minute to change the channel. Sometimes when I press channel down, it changes, for example, from channel 18 to channel 3. What happened to 4-17? Not sure if it has to do with choosing US as the country instead of Canada since it wasn't in the list.

Anyway, thanks for the hard work so far normanr and sub.

Excuse the Noob-like question but what does this plugin actually do?? I can't really understand from the Wiki...

I have the MSI Theatre 550 card so if I decide I need to install this, I can reference angust63.
