Hi Kevl, glad to see you didn't give up.

Ya the names are sometimes very related to the code so they can be very cryptic. These classes use the CantActivateMessage composite image when they are empty. The good news is there are not many hard coded numbers left in XRecord so a few more screens after the version you already downloaded and we're done.

BTW there's a new borderWidth on KeyBoardKeyElements in fastfind now which controls the thickness of the rectangles used to draw keyboard keys. Letter, Title, Time, Channel and HistoryPopupList also in fastfind now have borderWidth to control the thickness of the rectangle that draws the selected item in the list.

One more screen working on the wiki version. The recording popup is the one that appears when you click on a recording in Ready, Pending, Reoccurring, Transcoding... Look for the following composite image/special element in the skins:

RecordingPopupBackground/RecordingPopupButtons

Fixed the channel logos in this screen that weren't working with normal logo file names. Also fixed a crash if you double clicked on XRecord in the main screen the first time you entered. Also fixed the mouse processing which didn't work properly on popup boxes like password retry and delete confirmation.

Yet another version that makes the Manual recording popup screen skinnable. Look for the following in the skin files:

ManualPopupBackground/ManualPopupForeground/ManualPopupCursor/KeyboardKeyElementManualPopup/KeyboardControlManualPopup/ManualPopupButtons

Another version is on the wiki. Conflicts from manual recordings now work and are skinnable since it's the same conflict popup screen as in XSearch. That's the last hardcoded popup in XSuite! There are still some hardcoded values in the various screens associated with the main XRecord buttons but the popups were the worst hardcoding culprits.

Hi Fla,

Next time you are imersed in skin file editing I suspect it hugely beneficial to add some more comments to the skin files. Ideally these should include a clue as to which screens/popup screens/elements the blocks of text in the commnds refer to.

I'm sure this help many who try to work with the skin files.

There is generally no need to spell out which parameter does what on each line as that is often fairly obvious but a few notes as to which part of a screen (or which popup screen) each composite image affects would be a great help. This is particularly an issue where there are huge nos of popups referenced in a skin file. It really can get very tricky.

I'm still making progress and the Xrecord main menu skin is looking quite nice. I'll be working on the popups next. I may be some time :-)

You're right more comments in the skins would be useful. If you have comments in meedio and copy them to the blue skin where appropriate, I'll include them in the distribution.

BTW there's a new archiving popup feature here. Look for composite image/special element:

One more version on the wiki. The conflicts screen is now skinnable. The number of columns is now skinnable (used to be hardcoded to 2) and there's a new left continuation indicator (used to only have one on the right).

Look for new composite images NormalConflictShowImage/ConflictingConflictShowImage/SelectedConflictShowImage/ConflictContinuationRight/ConflictContinuationLeft and special element ConflictColumns.

Not related to skinning but there's also a fix for UNC paths in archiving as mentionned here.

New version on the wiki that makes the xrecord video lists skinnable. The composite images NormalShowName/SelectedShowName already existed but now they are used to draw all the parts of the video list items instead of just the background.

New version on the wiki where video list composite images NormalShowName/SelectedShowName can be overriden by screen specific images if they are present. For example I added NormalShowNameWatched/SelectedShowNameWatched for the "Watched" screen's video list. Comments in xrecord's skin.xml explain the eight screen names where video lists are used.

Unrelated to skinning but this version also includes a logger related fix affecting all of gbpvr as described here.

New version on the wiki. Group lists, Heterogeneous lists (mixed mode) and advanced lists are now fully skinnable. As far as I can see that's it, XSuite no longer has any hard coded UI.
