Jaggy Wrote:I asked the wife what her biggest gripes with GB-PVR were & was a bit surprised by her answers,

#1 was (I think) totally an NMT one (& now I know why she changed her mind about getting her A100 hooked up & still uses her MVP) so I will take that over to the NMT sub forum.

#2 was a way of reversing the date sort when she entered a folder in recordings so the latest recordings are displayed first, she also add she would prefer it didn't remember this sort order & she had to select it each time.

#3 was a way to have groups for recordings (like Myth has) so she can sort all my rubbish out of the way when looking for something to watch (I agree with this but for her rubbish) & sort movies into movies etc. I think we currently have something like 100 to 200 different folders under recordings so it does get very confusing as to what is what & for whom to watch & what has been watched by one of us & is waiting for the other to watch & delete etc. etc. etc.

I agree with Jaggy's wife on these. Recording 5 shows a day for the kids, it would be nice to get to the most recent ones quickly and have a way to sort it all away when its time to watch my own recordings.

To take it a step further in the sorting. Allow sorting on a few different fields, date, title, channel?, maybe tuner?

Deusxmachina Wrote:I was going to say, "Can't it already do that?" but I guess it can do it on most screens Except the Guide screen. And a lot of people don't know it can even do that.

I'm pretty sure this can be done on the guide screen too, its just up to the skin to display it.

Edit: Found a post where Sub fixed something when I was attempting to skit it myself:

On the UI Question / recording subject. my wife would like to be able to group by recording time.

She's watching both old episodes of Bones and the new series in parallel, but with different recording times. As a result we're not able to quickly identify which season is which.....

sub Wrote:I'm thinking about reversing the mapping, much like you suggest, so the user sets up their capture source, then scans for channels - and the found channels are then ready to watch. They'd of course have no EPG though, until the user selected a EPG channel for that digital channel. Currently we do the reverse behaviour, based on the EPG channels, but the user cant watch the channel until the mapping is performed.
This is a great idea, Mediaportal behaves the same way and I like it very much. After scanning the user should be able to deactivate and rename a channel, so a channel has a technical name and a UI name. Could it even be possible to mix xmltv epg sources with dvb epg's? So an analog source could use the epg from a digital source?
And a request: being able to copy a recording source, with all channels, so that there's no need for another scan or channel mapping.

#1 for me would be option somewhere in PVRX2 so i can see my tuner status. Be nice to see which of my three tuners are currently in use. (same as post #19)

#2 The ability to add/remove or enable/disable channels in PVRX2.

Schedules Direct is constantly adding additional channels to my lineup. It's a PITA to connect a keyboard and mouse to use Config since my PVR is run 99.9% of the time with a remote.

So maybe add an option in the Settings section called "Channels" where all the channels are listed. Then I could highlight them using the up or down arrow on the remote, use right arrow to toggle enable or disabled. Once I am finished, have an option to save the changes.

When watching live tv, using the menu button enters and exits the main menu with video inset. To exit we need to use menu button again. Would be nice if exit (esc) button would also exit the main menu while in video inset since it exits from the other things it accesses such as recordings.

Here are mine:
1. Ability to import files from video library into recordings so recorded episodes can be supplemented by non-recorded episodes of a series.

2. Ability to sort the video library folder by date so I can see the newest files first.

3. Integrated archiving function to move recordings from a local drive to a network drive: \\computer\folder

4. Inset or overlayed video if anything is playing, be it live, recording, or file.

Thanks, this is exciting!

Doesn't VidImport already do this?

1) I really miss the CallerID plugin. I'd like to have an NCID compatible client available in GB-PVR. I think the old plugin did NCID as well as well as YAC.

2) Was it the default Blue skin awhile ago or a 3rd party one that showed upcoming recordings right on the main GB-PVR menu screen. It let you see quickly what was up and coming. For those that don't want it, a preference to toggle it would be nifty.
