Sub hasn't indicated that he was going to add support for skipping in LiveTV on the NMT or MVP so I think we have lost this. I've gotten used to hitting the record key, if I have to leave.

As for pause, I don't know if it is implemented or not, and I don't know how many rolling files are kept while pause.

Really?! Skipping on MVP I understand (as theoretically it is now unsupported with NPVR) but on NMT? I am most surprised by this news.... Arrghh just when I thought I was getting ready to start moving the system over to NPVR exclusively. Not good if this is the case.

Pause not working for me, guess can always re-implement the registry hack to keep larger rolling file size/length?

For some reason today pause now works with MVP and LiveTV. Skipping as expected, not. Pause on NMT fine and skip backwards attempts a reasonable job though not properly, pause and skip forwards not. To be expected from your post? Or is this better than expected?

[Edit] Worked out for some reason only one MVP will take LiveTV in pause mode. i.e. I have 2 MVP server instances running. LiveTV on both, one I can pause, both I can't [End Edit]

I thought I wrote yesterday that I don't know if or how pause was implemented. I will add that it does work, but I am not sure for how long.

I have never had rewind work on the NMT on LiveTV however sometimes on error x2 will restart playback on the current file. The latest version of NRecord is broken for livetv anyway, it always restarts the file for me.

Note to avoid confusion skiping on the MVP on recordings and video library should be normal except when resume is used. For the NMT skipping uses the timing info so it is usually very good.

Martin - no probs and thanks for clarification. We all use MVP's for different things - for me previous recordings (now in AVI format) is the main use.

NPVR 1.5.36 has fixed the on-the-flay transcoding issues with avi and other formats. With this change and other MVP improvements I now consider the "beta" period closed and recommend NPVR for MVP users too.

Since the new dongle supports both NPVR and GBPVR, it is also the officially supported dongle. Thanks to those who responded for their help.
