Thanks for the tip, it worked perfectly but i tweaked it so that i got as large a preview image as possible. Here's the setting:
<Image visible="!@hasMetaData" source="@previewImage" location="1,0" size="99,99" fixedAspectRatio="true" />

And there is a screenshot attached, which shows the images that Thumbgen can generate, which are generally very nice.

Nice work, sub. like the new menus.
I wonder if you could give some thought to working your magic on the video/photo menus. They are quite unfreindly at present. If you have a lot of videos you really need to see screenful of titles at a time, rather than just one or two

I like the looks of this software, I'll likely begin testing/using it for multiple tasks. Is the Hauppauge PVR-150MCE not supported? It's not showing up in the devices menu. I'd like to hook up my Wii to my capture card, and play that way. If needs be I could record too. But most importantly, I won't have to buy anymore hardware/cables. I have found a VGA to Composite adapter for my monitor, but I'd really prefer not spend more money. I recently watched a youtube video of somebody running their Wii with an Application called PixelView. But it doesn't like my card either Sad

Welcome to the forum. Have you discovered the wiki yet - it will show you how to get going. If you do come across a problem start a thread in the NPVR Support forum. There are lots of members who will be happy to help.

Ok. Clearly I was expecting the software to automatically do generally everything. The following helped me out:
http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ugeSoftPVR
However now I've come across a very weird video problem. I'm sure I'll figure it out, or i'll have a brain aneurism :p I'm also not receiving thread update emails. I'll have to figure that out as well. This site is different then I'm used to.

Thanks a ton, ACTCMS Smile

I has been mentioned in the past that playing games via a PVR150 on gbpvr/npvr does not work very well because of the delays in compressing on the board to MPG and uncompressing when displaying.

Indeed. There has been a delay. In the past when I used it, there was only one software that worked properly. Snapstreams beyond tv. Unfortunately that's not freeware, and if memory serves, the video had to be rendered/buffered to hard drive. I'm considering purchasing a new card. The analog capabilities of the PVR-150 are seriously outdated. No wonder it didn't sell on ebay :S And the video artifacting I'm currently getting may be due to heat from the PSU. I guess I'll either buy the appropriate VGA to composite cable(secondary monitor input), or buy a very good HD capture card, that's supported by most of the softwares out there Wink

The reason for the delay is because NPVR (and most other tv software) looks at the MPEG encoder output, since thats the format we need for recording, and the short delay is of no concern. If I was instead designing the application for watching game console output, and wanted minimal delay, I'd instead be looking at the raw video/audio output (like the Hauppauge WinTV7 'game mode' setting).
