Just getting going on GBPVR and the MVP, downloaded the xdvd and while starting to figure it out selected the '[..]' while at the root C: which tosses an exception of something like -

Index was out of range, Must be non-negative and less then the size of the collection. Parameter name : Index

After that your hung on the message box screen.

Also I think navigation from other '[..]' is fine, just while at the root C:

I have not yet got it to play a DVD, but I'm guessing I'm not quite set up, I see the VLC transcoding going on, and a '.mpg' file being created where it seems like it should, but then nothing, and eventually on the server VLC tosses an exception. Might be a media problem.

Oh, forgot I think this is version 0.2 as of 2005-09-26

Sandy

Thanks for putting this together, I'll keep playing.

ahh,yes it can't go back down to the desktop,if you're in root of c then nowhere up to go..Smile it can only navigate the 'base directory' and it's subdirectories..
can't change drives or such, tho i was thinking of asking if we could have multi dir paths for the files...make sure your settings.xml file is adjusted in the skin you're using...and no ':' after the drive letters in settings..what version vlc do you have? [tested with 8.2+]
sounds kinda like a skin problem maybe...it only comes with blue, red sky and mtn lake skins so if you use a different one, copy the blue xdvd folder into the one you'r using..
it works so well for me, now i wish there were a 'dvd' button i could assign to it...lol
p.s. to play a dvd, just hit play button while the '..' is selected...
[should be able to just hit play button as soon as you go into XDVD]
hope that helps..

Thanks for the reply. I am running 8.2 of vlc. I almost have it working except I think my source data from DVDShrink is not working really well with VLC even after I did them up as a standard ISO. Watched a few minutes then the MVP rebooted and required killing the machine to clear the dead processes out (I guess). I'll have to bring a regular dvd in and see how that works out.

Good stuff for sure.

ahh,do you have the newest build? it has a 'kill vlc' button right on it Smile
it works grerat with all of my dvdshrink rips...even with the menus...
i ran into the problem of the movie being on a different title chapter than normal on a few dvd's..instead of title 1 the main movie was on title 12 on "the hitchiker's guide to the universe" so Jorm added the functionality to choose title to rip...
oh and make sure to use the 'audio only' vlc line cuz it uses much less cpu power, tho it does use the hard disk alot..[you may have to adjust the batch file settings if you install vlc on different drive etc.]
[about 90% cpu for audio+video transcode, only about 30% cpu for audio only transcoding]
here's a link for those who'd like to adjust the vlc settings..
VLC command line help
let us know if you're still having problems..

Yep, have the Kill VLC button. I may have other problems with the MVP, running a Rev D1 hardware with the 2.4 release 23096 version of the dongle.bin, but having issues with it locking up with a Ripped DivX and the Hauppauge only software (Not GBPVR). So might have another issue hardware wise. I'm going to try another DivX rip and see if I can at least make that work. If not, guessing something wrong with the hardware or networking. My MVP is connected to a local 10BT but hard to say what might be causing a problem. I have to do a little more messing with it to find out.

Thanks for the help so far!
