Ok you got me
It's a improvement
Of people don't like just give them a option to make it constant
Do it Smile

yeah its an improvement, but may need some community discussion (well from people who actually will use the samsung app). I dont want to confuse users who are use to NextPVR with different behaviour.

I'm 99% sure ill do the mini guide thing (using the "Channel List" button on a tv remote), as thats not available on remotes that people use with the windows nextpvr app. and will greatly improve channel changing times (which is slower than in the windows app as its remote) I just have to figure out a good button to use on a bluray remote for that (perhaps a colour button...)

true theres no "record" button on a bluray player either... damn this is limiting the buttons I can use... was planning on using blue/yellow for page up/down in lists...

Page up down should be the |<< >>| buttons as they don't get used for anything untill playing

fw/rw used in the TV guide to go forward/backward 1 block (~3 hours) and skip/back are used to go forward/backward an entire day. so they're out Smile

sub use to use (may still use) blue/yellow on the hauppauge remote for page up/down. (or it may have been red/green...) the 34 button hauppauge remote...

But when you are in recordings the tvguide isn't up
Can't the buttons be used for different things on different screens

I thought tv guide you would just use the arrow pad and ok

nah, because you will want to page up/down in the tv guide (if you have 200+ channels, scroll with arrows is very slow Smile) so you will want to go in every direction
- page up / down
- skip block / back block
- next/prev day

having different buttons on different screens will just confuse matters.

theres the option of perhaps using 3 and 9 for page up/down. but ill stick with blue/yellow for now and change later if needed. (I was using blue to turn debugging on/off though, but that can be shifted to some random button)

I just have to detect what type of device the app is running on. TV devices will have slightly different buttons to a bluray player, but no real avoiding that, the basics will be the same though.
