Thanks.
I could clearly see the situation happening in your demux-stats. It's due to back pressure from the downstream playback components not keeping up. As a first step, I'd try to confirm you've got hardware decoding enabled in the LAV decoder settings. If you haven't, then this might be enough to fix it. Otherwise, I could try throwing away frames when I detect your video decoder/renderer aren't keeping up.

You could try this version, with an additional registry setting:
VideoCatchup=1 (DWORD) This will throw away frames to give the downstream components a chance to catch up. If that doesn't work, I'll give you another setting to another type of log (which will give more details about it attempting to catch up)

If I click on the box for mpeg2, it shows me under Hardware Acceleration "none". There are 5 options to pick, dxva2 (copy-back), dxva2 (native), d3d11, Nvidia cuvid (old), and Intel quicksand (old).

In this case, we're interested in MPEG2.
I'd probably try the d3d11 option first, then dxva2 (copy-back), then dxva2 (native)

Now I've lost audio, says I don't have an AC3 decoder selected, when I changed nothing else. And, if I change it back, I still get the message.

Are you talking about just changing the LAV settings? It shouldn't have affected anything like that.

I rebooted and got it back.
So do I leave the demux-stats in place and see how things go? |
