sub Wrote:You seem to be about the only one. Most reports have been very positive.

Anyway, without good reports of your problems they're likely to go unfixed and you'll probably get the same problems in the next release.

It wasn't meant to sound ungrateful, but until I can get a chance to do a re-install and have some time to play around with it I just went back to a stable version due quite a few schedule recordings.

I have some problems with the new release - hopefully you can help me out...
Using only GBPVR - no MVP, on a Haupage PVR350
I deinstalled old version. Just copied config and database files.

1. Conflicts are not resolved / shown.
When I enter 2 recordings to the same time different channels via the guide I get no conflict warning. Even in recordings/conflicts I get "All good" message...
Under pending the entries have def. the same date and time.

2. Using a Haupage PVR350 in Live TV I get no sound - only video. Recordings are fine though.

3. Comics doesn't work anymore - I get only remoteserver or wrong namespace errors when clicking on a comic name.

4. Config shows still 0.90.7c version number (not sure if this is an error or you just forgot to update)

thx

You've definitely got something wrong, my version shows the correct number (v0.92.8) and I believe sub fixed the conflict bug in a version later than what your config screen shows. Make sure you're running the latest Hauppauge PVR350 drivers they make a world of difference. Also, comics aren't even listed in the plugins anymore on the current version, so I would suggest backing up your gbpvr.mdb and then uninstalling and totally wiping out the directory and then re-install.

The thing is I did this (uninstall - delete directory).
Installed and restored the mdb files (cause its pain to resetup all channels etc.)

But I guess I have to try again - version number shows def. something wrong...

As far as I know the only file you need to backup is the gbpvr.mdb file (it's the only file I backup when I upgrade), maybe you backed up and restored some other files that it's not happy about. Only thing I have to setup again after an upgrade is the weather plugin, I'm not really interested in new zealand's weather forecast Wink

glassival:

O.k. I updated to the newest Hauppauge drivers, deinstalled, deleted, reinstalled GBPVR.
Version number is o.k. now.
Copied gbpvr.mdb file - channels etc. are o.k.

BUT to my problems from above:

1. Conflicts are still not resolved or warned.
I selected 2 new entries from tv guide (same time, just diff. channel). Works with no error. Conflicts entry also still returns "Good news - no conflicts" although the 2 new entries clearly listed now under scheduled with the same time.

2. Live TV: several problems
a. no sound at all (recordings are still fine with sound)
b. starting timeshift mode: Video is gone - only snow.
Leaving the mode and try Live TV again - all channels only snow (although also recordings again work o.k.)

o.k. comics plugin no longer listed - guess I have to check for it as seperate plugin if I want it again...

Small update to Live TV problem:

All channels show only snow until I switched to channel 1 which shows video (still no sound). Switching then back to other channels works ok - video is there...
Really strange...

Try doing a manual EPG update just for the hell of it and see if the conflicts show up. As far as problem 2...well...we'll have to wait for sub to jump in on that one I don't have any ideas Smile

snow problem and conflicts solved I guess...

I had 2 capture sources and gbpvr (one for normal tv, one for my premiere box).
gbpvr added all normal channels to the 2nd capture device (with diff channelnumbers).
I guess that caused some conflicts and the snowing.
Also this was the reason for the none conflict warning, as gbpvr of course thought it can record both the same time...
I disabled them and now it is o.k. again.

No sound in Live TV:
In Timeshift mode sound is o.k. (as in recordings) - only no sound on exclusive Live TV
