At least now you can make the XSuite Community skin knowing there won't be another new version right around the corner. I realize there aren't enough comments in the skins so feel free to ask questions, post partial crashing skin versions etc. Sometimes in the debugger it's easier to figure out what the problem is.

Hi Fla

Am still pressing ahead with mods to meedio skin. Have been distracted of late by new 50" plasma. Will be back on with further skin mods in the next few days. Will post meedio clone then.

Hi Kevl,

Congrats on the new TV. I'm starting to think about making the move to HD myself. I'm thinking rear projection may give good bang for the buck size wise. It will be nice to have a higher resolution XSuite skin then.

Is it possible to remove buttons from the main display screen of XRECORD? I want to remove the Videos, Movies, Free Space, and Transcoding buttons from the menu. I went into the SKIN.XML in the <Navigation> section and inserted an exclamation point after the "<" on the NavigationElement line for the button I wanted to remove. I had hoped that the program then would just skip over displaying those buttons. Instead, XRecord doesn't even show up on the main PVRX2 menu with those changes in effect. Are these buttons hard-coded? If so, pleasse consider a request to make them configurable as to which ones appear in the menu.

Go into gbpvr's config.exe program and edit the xrecord settings from the plugins tab. There's a menu options tab in there for doing just that.

Thanks for the quick response.

That was exactly what I was looking for. It did take me a couple tries because I didn't have "Use Custom Menus" checked. I had tried that earlier but the entries didn't have any effect (because I hadn't checked the "Use Custom Menus" box).

I don't see why you need that extra checkbox. Why not just use the entries of what menu items are checked? If a newer version is being installed then the installation program can use the previously entered choices.

In any case, a little clarification on the setup to indicate that the "Use Custom Menus" must be checked for the entries to take effect would be useful.

I'm maintaining XSuite but I didn't write it.

I'm not in front of my dev computer now but I recall seeing a tooltip for that checkbox that mentionned that custom menus are slower. Hard to imagine that the speed difference is significant.

I think the bottom checkboxes should be greyed out if the top one is unselected. One more thing for my todo list.

Hi Fla

Have got bored with adjusting plasma and am now back on with Xrecord skin mods.

I've downloaded your latest output and have brought my skin file into line with it.

I noticed that the skin file is now much longer than before. It must have taken you ages to do the mods.

Well I've started tweaking and am already stuck :-).

Ive attached a jpeg showing the issue. Can you point me at the correct part of the file to move the items associated with the noposter.gif files.

It isn't clear to me where the controlling lines are. I think I can see that the composite image is hetero list but I cant see where this is then positioned.

Regards

Kev
