Thanks everyone, it seems to be working properly now.

So, this issue seems to be common to my origional install and the new install with my new PC. I should probably add this step to my instructions. I am wondering what the significants of the "<BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>1</BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>" update was. My preference would be to only include the steps that are absolutely required.

I have not installed the PCH patch listed on this thread.

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=34269.

I recall things started acting a little strange after doing so on my first install. Are the instructuions to simply copy the new PVRX2.exe over the old one in the C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR directory?

Is it advised that I do this prior to setting up mvpmcx2?

Yes.

You pretty much need the latest of both to be sure they'll work together smoothly.

These are the steps I took in setting it up. I have not finished yet, but this gets you to the point of having GB-PVR and HDHomerun up and running. My next step is to integrate mvpmcx2.

If anyone else tries this, please let me know any updates you may have.

I've been following this thread with great excitement. I have a PCH and just ordered the hdhomerun. I've been all over this forum and the wiki to get some insight into how to set all this up.

Thank you for prepairing this document. It gives me a great starting point to setting this up.

Pardon me for cross posting (same post in support) but epete seems to have had some experience with this setup and is located in my area. So I'm hoping hes around and can give me some tips.

Greetings all,

I'm very new to all this and I'm having problems setting it all up.
I’m having a problem getting GB-PVR to pick up any channels from my HDhomerun. I’ve installed the HDHomerun software and ran a channel scan and it picked up about 30 OTA stations with very good signal strength over an ATSC antenna. I was able to view these channels with VLC and they were crystal clear.

I installed GB-PVR as per the instructions adding as the first entry into the BDA.INI file as follows

[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner xxxxxxxx-0]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner xxxxxxxx -0
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner xxxxxxxx-1]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner xxxxxxxx -1
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

Entering the device ID in place of xxxxxxxx

I signed up for schedualsdirect and created my channel lineup.

I then selected digital recording source and selected the HDHomerun

I then selected schedualsdirect as my EPG and updated the EPG. This bought in the channel lineup with no problems.

I then mapped digital channels and it scanned all 68 channels and signal indicator would display a signal every so often. But at the end of the scan it would display a message stating that no channels were found please check connections on your device or configuration.

I’ve uninstalled HDHomerun software as well as GB-DVR then reinstalled but still have this problem.

I’m using the latest version of gb-dvr v1.02.13 and the latest version of HDHomerun which now comes packaged with totalmedia which I also installed. I uninstalled totalmedia to configure gb-pvr and I still have the same problem.

I hope I’ve given enough information. I’ve also included the log files.
Please help I’m really stuck

I figured out the problem. It seems I overlooked a very simple step in the setup process. After I updated the EPG data I was presented with a list of channels from schedualsdirect. I did not enable any of the channels and just did a map. I went back and selected a few channels and remapped and it found all the channels. Such a simple oversite that had me troubleshooting for hours. After I setup my channels I did a few schedualed recordings and the results were fantastic. Well its off to setup GBPVR with PCH.

@SUB

A suggestion. You may want to program GBPVR to have the channels check boxes default to enable after the first initial EPG update. This may save the enduser some headache in a situation like I had.

I'm having problems getting my HDHOMERUN setup with GBPVR as well.

I had added the sections for my tuner to the BDA file, added the tuner as a capture source, added SD as my EPG. When I select Map digital channels to EPG channels I get the error:

GBPVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check that the device is configured properly and ready for use.

The HDHR works fine with it's own utilities, and nothing else that I can see is using it.

logs attached.

Thanks for any help.

When creating your bda.ini entries, you added a space to the filter name that should not be there:
Quote:FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 1010FF48 -0
Remove the space from "1010FF48 -0" in your bda.ini

Thanks Whurlston, that worked!

The next issue I seem to have is that tuner 0 is OTA and tuner 1 is cable (clear QAM). Tuner 0 is working fine, but tuner 1 can't find and channels. I'm guessing I need to specify something other than ATSC in the bda.ini file, but I'm not sure what I need to put in for clear QAM?

The bda.ini entries are the same. Have you mapped your QAM channels with the lineup editor?
