ill leave the season/episode for now and if it causes any issues ill remove it. nextpvr does support those fields so i should also display it, the format i didnt think was the nicest in that screen shot. ive always been a fan of [Series Name] - [Season]x[Episode] - [EpName] eg "Doctor Who - 1x01 - Pilot"

nearly finished the "Search" screen. just have to get the "recording" status matching nextpvr.

ill have to remove "Update" for recordings in the current version (ill use a version number check to show/hide that button) as there is a bug in the current version of nextpvr which wont allow a recording to be updated. i really should of checked this before sub released it, he gave me plenty of time. sorry guys.

think i've fixed the guide scrolling up/down issues on the last page.

EDIT: and ive added channel group support to the guide, pushing the "Guide" button while inside the guide will cycle channel groups. this is also remembered so when you exit the app or re-enter the guide it will show your previously selected channel group as the active one.

boring developer updates:

got sick of the using the samsung editor for anything, so switched everything over to visual studio and msbuild to publish. took about a day to get everything setup. but I no longer need to use the samsung editor at all. I can build from visual studio (best code editor there is) and can target specific builds for
- Publish to web - automatically uploads to my webserver and deploys
- Publish to Batman - my testing server
- Debug - doesnt do much, just launches in chrome browser for testing
- Samsung Emulator - publishes the code to the samsung emulator to use
publishing now automatically sets the build number (which has changed formats now), minifies the js files, compiles the less (smarter css for the gui).

all pretty boring stuff, but really helps development. a great editor hugely improves development time. the old editor use to crash on me whenever i tried to run the code, i had to hit run between 6-12 times most times to test something, so frustrating....

also working on the aspect ratio stuff, this is annoying to work on though as i have to actually deploy each change to my samsung brp to test it. emulator doesnt playback video (white screen... god knows why...).

hopefully publish another version in the next 24-48 hours. depending on the aspect ratio stuff.

sadly back at work now, so cant spend all day working on this Smile

working on a webportal which will record the device logs (no more trying to read and copy the debug info screen in a hurry). I'll make this "opt out" at first, once there's very little bug reports coming in, ill then make it "opt in". unless lots of people complain and rather have it opt out at first?

logs will be saved for 5 days then automatically purged. also want to possible make it so you can submit things like your recordings.list, tv listings etc, so if there is a problem loading those things, you can manually submit them from within the app.

every user will have full control over their personal logs (every line, will be a separate log entry) and you'll be able to delete individual entries or all logs.

i've also ordered a google tv (netgear neotv prime - only one to do direct amazon shipping to nz), will try and get the app running on that (playback might be problematic, but will be fun to experiment).

good my google tv today, managed to browser to a instance of "NextPVR for Samsung" i was hosted on my dev machine, mostly works. can navigate around the menus.

video playback obviously doesnt work that easily, but going to make a simple google tv/android app and try it out, wanting to get remote controller working with colour buttons etc.

all the settings stuff works fine, since if using a browser, it just prompts for server name, ip address, which google tv handles nicely.

also do more work on pushing logs to my server, and about to deploy that locally to test it out.

got the app now properly on google tv, but small issue that needs sub to change something in nextpvr which I need before I can continue.

ive got the remote working, the app runs exactly the same.

going to play around with video playback. that might have to be semi-external; It might not look exactly the same, it might not have HTML on screen display and be able to go behind the menu as in samsung. instead might be a java based video player inside the android app, so ill have to make a new osd for it. but thats just playback + the mini guide. hopefully i can get a html player... or worst case scenario i dont get any playback working...

no clue if anyone is actually interested in a google tv client, but thinking of long term with android being adopted for smart tvs instead of manufactures own OS. and google tvs are cheaper than smart blurays and seem a lot faster. got a netgear one for NZD$120 shipped + NZD$25 for a nz power adapter. dual core 2013 BRP is around NZD$220

yeah they are the future but having something that plays a disc(not dead yet) is still handy to have next to the tv
