Watch currently recording program?

Do you know if the ServerWMC addon is doing it? I looked through it's code to see how they're doing it (since they seem to have the best supported addon), and can't see any obvious signs of it.

I'm sorry, I don't know. I don't use WMC, on Windows I'm a very pleased NextPVR user ;-)

Yep, I know that. I more interested in if they have a background thread, and back channel for communication from the backend to addon.

Nope, I meant right from recordings. If you record to \\ip\sharename x-newa should just work, unless there is a password. If it is a drive letter networked or local, or has a password, use xbmc's path substitution in advancedsetting.xml http://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings.x...bstitution to substitute what xbmc thinks it should be, from what NextPVR sends.

Uhhh, I thought I got it working completely, but now I see that it IS working in X-NEWA's Web Client, but it does NOT work in NextPVR Client in Kodi (not in Windows, not in Android). Is that correct?

That is correct and expected. In-progress to end of show/comskip does not work with http

I don't know why they were able to fix this (is it not http?) but I read somewhere (can't find it anymore), that it IS possible with the mediaportal plugin (for the record: I'm not a fan of mediaportal).

What do you want me to tell you that I haven't written several times? Sub's plugin uses http and Kodi/XBMC don't support growing files with http. Not all plugins use http for streaming.

You just need to set up your recording folder as a shared folder, read from it and then x-newa wouldn't stop until the end.

This little sentence, tucked away, was all I needed to make my system much more friendly. It took me some time to realise that the share is the server recording directory - I had been assuming the work had to be done at the client end....

The client side change is typically only required if you use drive letters for your shares

Note this applies only to x-newa, Kodi still doesn't support in-progress http streaming.
