That is not true, you will have no DXVA and there will be tearing when using EVR on XP.

We'v had this discussion before hoborg, and I still claim that with only 7-8 % cpu during playback of HD content it must have been dxva active. BUT at least it displays the whole screen. VMR9 has a bug in it.

Graham Wrote:There are several experiments that you can do to try and narrow down the cause of any problems. You can use Windows Media Player on the client to view recordings that are stored on the server. Plus, SAF should have installed the MPC media player on the client so you can play videos with that. Plus, you can copy a recording (the .ts file) from the server to the client and play the version that is stored on the client. The results of these various tests might offer some clue to the cause of any issues.
This was live TV, so no file to test with elsewhere???

Odd, just opened the Settings screen and it is set to EVR??? In any event NPVR does exactly the same thing as it did when set to VMR9.

You could try other decoders, many of us had good results with Cyberlink decoder(s).

I Have Cyberlink Media Suite on my laptop but nothing shows up under the Video Renderer for Cyberlink. Should I be downloading some more stuff?

I have read that recent versions of Cyberlink decoders will only function within Cyberlink products. You may recall that I mentioned SAF ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post414049 Send a forum private message to Hoborg for the "unlocked" version.

I used to use VMR9 FSE (full screen exclusive) for video renderer and I got good results with that.

PM sent to Hoborg. Thanks :-)

VMR9 FSE results in the same error though :-(

first do a recording on the channel you are having issue with then play that file with different decoders once you get that sorted move onto checking live tv.

Check that you have a live tv buffer folder selected that is real.
when you start the live tv check the file is created and growing
Also may be still a access issue from client to server
post logs at each issue helps people like sub not having enough time to ask you a million questions for what is sometimes a simple fix if they can see your logs.

Hmmm, not sure it's setting recordings now. Shouldn't the EPG be coloured red for the programme you've set to record? Pending Recordings is also empty. Logs attached.

[edit]At least I can get Live TV on HD channels now having manually set NPVR to have the same decoder settings as shown in this post:-

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?50227-Saf6

It's a bit stuttery, but does at least give me picture and sound.[/edit]
