That's not doing a Freesat scan at all now. I think I asked you to try without merging DVB-T and SAT>IP which I feel is one problem, but those logs seem to indicate you have merged them.

Sorry but I don’t recall any mention of not merging the channels! As far as I know I have never managed  to do a Freesat EPG scan with the current version of NextPVR or the beta version using the SAT>IP tuner!

I have disconnected the DVB-T tuner and done a clean install of NextPVR on my Test server. I was going to scan with a different tuner in case tuner one is faulty but then I remembered that NextPVR always uses tuner 1 first.
Other software I have used give an option to change the priority if required.

Freesat (UK) EPG scan fails immediately! The tuner is working OK because if I select a channel under either Channels or TV Guide I can watch the channels via the Admin web page!

I was going to try the disk in the live server which has a PCIe DVB-S2 tuner. It was a twin tuner but one failed about 6 months ago hence the want to make use of the SAT>IP tuner! The server is very busy today but there is an hour early evening when it is free so will swap the boot disk and try a Freesat EPG scan with that tuner.

Unfortunately we diverged trying to get your production SAT>IP working and duplicates checking because of your custom logic, I think we need to make sure the beta is working for SAT>IP again since the issue with production (and the original reason for this thread is no known).

We know the new logic worked to a point showing in the logs here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid589423 and as sub noted there was a mix of EPG from opensat and freesat so there was info data you would have needed XML for in the past. You confirmed his patch worked and were getting the EPG. Let's try and get back there with SAT>IP only without merged DVB-T You might be able to use this database as a start.

Using NextPVR V6.1.6.240217 with just the SAT>IP tuner in devices I scanned using my local region 0282West.ini file which has a subset of only 23 transponders instead of the full 114.

I deleted all unwanted channels which left me with 40 channels all on Freesat and set to use "Freesat (UK)" EPG. I selected Update EPG and it inserted 10473 EPG entries!!

Checking EPG_EVENT in the database all entries have the newer longer "unique_id" now starting with the programme name, which is use to "Avoid duplicate recordings".

This did not work a week or two ago when I tried it! I think the difference is that ALL channels are now set to Freesat (UK) and no other tuners such as the DVB-T2 tuner are installed!

Thanks Martin that is progress!!

Right as I've been posting since https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid589931 there is something happening after DVB-T gets merged or added that sub needs to look at.

Sorry but I forgot the bit about not using DVB-T tuners when using the Freesat (UK) option. I went back to try it on the current version and forgot!!

Running my Test Server with version 6.1.6.240217. I imported the Recurring Recordings list from my live server! Using only my quad SAT>IP tuner and the EPG is set to Freesat (UK) for all channels. Its been using up to three of the tuners at one point making recordings today.

The plan is to run the test server in parallel with the live server for about six months to collect the “Unique Programme IDs” created by the “Freesat UK” EPG to “Avoid Duplicate Recordings”. The “Unique Programme IDs” on the live server were created by EPG Collector which I have used for about 10 years which was before the Freesat (UK) EPG was an option. The Freesat IDs include the programme title.

The live server has a “Recently Deleted” list of around 2000 items kept for two years and is recording between 2 and 5 items per day the. The Test server using the same Recurring Recordings list is recording around 15 items per day starting with an almost empty “Recently Deleted” list!

My plan is to change the EPG I have used for many years on NextPVR from XMLTV created by "EPG Collector" to Freesat(UK). The main problem is that the UniqueID used to avoid duplicate recordings are incompatible!

Some Unique IDs created by EPG Collector using XMLTV option.

"Recent" on my current server is set to two years so some entries are due to be removed in a few days.
The plan is to leave the test server running and recording everything in the "Recurring Recordings" list imported from the main server. While doing this it is creating a new "Recently_Deleted" list in the Freesat(UK) format. At some point in several months time I will swap to using Freesat(UK) EPG and replace the old "Recently_Deleted" list in the database with the list created on the test server in Freesat(UK) format!
The Test Server has no tuners installed but is setup to use 3 of the 4 SAT>IP tuners on the network.

Right that is why I was wrote that program to normalize your existing recordings and add the title to the CRID in recently deleted and for existing recordings. I think your xmltv is customized to add an unique id and not use NextPVR's logic.

The issue right now is NextPVR doesn't always xml encode the title depending on the source so it could create Bangers & Cash or Bangers & Cash Once that is fixed I can run my program anytime for the one time cleanup.

Do you know which of those were the old release, and which were from the current stuff?

There are inconsistencies in the pre-release, I will follow up off the public forum.
