jodowein, you CANT copy a config.xml or gbpvr.mdb from a previous release over those installed with a new release of application. I've said this many times in the past. You will end up with a seriously broken installation. These files change from release to release. New settings added. New tables and columns added to the database etc.

Normally, users should install the new version over top and it'll will automatically upgrade the previous installation.

Your setup is now in an unknown state. I recommend you uninstall, delete the GB-PVR directory, reinstall GB-PVR. DO NOT COPY THE CONFIG.XML OR GBPVR.MDB BACK OVER THIS INSTALLATION. Yes, this effectively means starting again, but at least you will have a working system.

BTW, The version number is in the config.xml, which is why you're seeing an old one.

Ah, that would appear to do it. Sorry sub I wasn't trying to give bad advice Smile I suppose another alternative is to install a totally fresh copy of the new version in another directory and run that, see if that clears up the problems.

About an hour ago I finished the install of 92.8 and I've been 'fiddling' with it since. From my perspective this is far and away the best release yet.

I did a fresh install and configure so I have yet to install all of my previous plugins but thus far I've found nothing in the main functionality that does not work exactly as expected.

Congratulations to all involved.

I upgraded to 0.92.8 last night and now find when exiting any recording or live TV I get the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" message. I hit the OK button on the remote and it goes away. More of an Inconvenience than anything else.
Running default blue skin & PVR250. Has anyone else seen this?

Richard

Working good here so far. I did notice when i hit rewind when in timeshift, it pauses for a sec, then starts playing it with no sound, like it's not really rewinding. But when i go back , the sound is fine, along with when i just pause, unpause, the sound is fine and everything.

Oh yeah. I knew i forgot something. In the settings, when trying to add a new source (PVR-250 S-Video jack) and choosing new added feature, 'No EPG', it gives an error message "Create Capture Source- An unhandled exception has occurres in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be sut down immediately. Value cannot be null. Parameter name:type. "

Then if i hit 'Continue', i get a "You must set up the EPG Source before you can continue", and doesn't go past this message. This is on a fresh install.

When can i try to fix this, or is this just a possible bug?

Yeah, rewind works like crap - always has, probably always will. Many of the directshow components I rely on just wont play in reverse.

Oops. Right you are. I've fixed for the next build.
