Actually the GBPVR install directory should be in the Windows System path so he shouldn't need to do that. My guess is that it can't unregister it because it was never loaded. I don't think he has ever been able to convert manually. Go ahead and run regsvr32 GBPVRParser.ax and tell us if that works. If not first check to see if you have the GBPVRParser.ax file in your GBPVR install directory and if you do then do like sub says and run regsvr32 GBPVRParser.ax except put the fully qualified path name in front of it, so regsvr32 "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRParser.ax"

Huh? GB-PVR wont be in the window system path. The current directory is in the system path, so he doesnt have to supply the complete path if he is at the command prompt and sitting in the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory. If he runs it from the Start->Run menu option, then he'll need to provide the full path or he'll get the error he showed.

Hmmm it's in my path....I must have done that for some reason or another I have since forgotten Big Grin . If you get that error when doing a regsvr32 /u then it was never registered to begin with but like Sub said when you run regsvr32 to register the file you must be in the directory or specify the full path to the file.

Update:
I think I remember why I did that. I assigned the GBPVR application to the green power button on my remote and I don't think it loaded up correctly unless I had the application path in my system path or something along those lines.

Try opening up a command prompt cd into the directory that has the GBPVRParser.ax file and then run regsvr32 GBPVRParser.ax

Ok, it registered from the folder itself. so that means it was never registered before. Now I'll try a convert and see how it works.

Maybe that was the problem all along?

Is it normal that the convert process takes up 97-99% cpu cycles? my system is a amd xp3000+ with 1 gb of corsair pc3200 om an asus a7n deluxe motherboard, 9600xt vid card and 2 wd 120gb 7200rpm hdd's.

Yes, it is a very CPU intensive process. It does it at low priority though, so it shouldnt impact too much on other processes. You can also tell it to do the conversion over night.

Thanks Sub, it doesn't affect anything else, and i have 3 onther systems so I don't use the one that trqancoding now. I'm transcoding a 20minutes show to
retest the audio on the converted file.

Sub: I realize this transcoding is still in its early stages but we wouldn't be users if we weren't always wanting more right?? Smile Anyways, I was just wondering if you had thought about making the transcoding an option on a per recording basis so you could check a box to have that show transcoded when you schedule it? I guess you could leave the time as a global option but the check box would just determine if a row is inserted into the transcode queue table or not.
