I think so.

I am currently using the 24108 drivers with the registry fix, and still having corrupt timeline problems. It doesn't look like other people are having this problem anymore, so I'm trying to troubleshoot what is happening.
Questions: Does the registry setting change need to be made immediately after updating the drivers, and then the machine rebooted? Or can you update drivers, reboot, make registry changes, and then reboot. After running hcwclr, rebooting, and checking to make sure the driver is uninstalled, the Found new hardware wizard pop-ups. I check the "stop installation" box, and then run HCWDriverInstall.exe downloaded from Hauppauge in orderto install the 24108 driver. I did not run the WinTV-PVR-150 driver update and middleware (pvr150_22_23257.exe) that is on Hauppauge's site but perhaps this also needs to be done? I may also try to go back to an older set of drivers, perhaps the 24054 drivers , and see if I have any better luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me nuts.

Quote:Or can you update drivers, reboot, make registry changes, and then reboot.Yes, that should be fine. Sorry, I'm not really sure on the rest of it. I've never actually seen the problem myself. I've only got what I've read in this thread to go on.
During my last issue, where I forgot to apply the reg patch after a system restore... I noticed a whole bunch of stuff. I think I'll be writing an entry in the wiki...
First, if you run HWclear, it wipes all of the reg settings related to the 150 driver. Then you reboot, Hardware wizard comes up, Cancel it. I had two cards, the wizard came up four times. Go figure... I cancelled every time... Then I went to the directory where I stored the 24108 driver. You can get the driver from Hauppauge's FTP site... ftp://ftp.hauppauge.com/Support/PVR150/Beta/ I ran the exe. It discovered the device, asked if I should trust the unsigned drivers, I did... Happened twice, (Two cards...). Then I ran the reg patch. Note.. there is one reference in this thread that has typos galore. The reg file should read like this: ddrawley Wrote:I posted this in the other thread as well. Notice the Quotes, and the Square Brackets. Also, the text wraps in this forum, so make sure it doesn't wrap in your reg file. And then there is that one extra file Hauppauge wants to install. It's what they call: WinTV-PVR-150 driver update and middleware: pvr150_22_23257.exe http://hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_pvr150.html I do not know if this install is necessary, if you have no intention in using their WinTV2000 software. But it doesn't look like it hurts anything and so I do it... I reboot one final time.. And you're ready to roll ready to roll...

Beerman Wrote:I am currently using the 24108 drivers with the registry fix, and still having ... I have reread you posts and recognize that you have probably done everything I suggested. The only difference is that Hauppauge middleware. You might want to try that, but I suspect it won't make much difference. So lets look at other things: Has it ever worked, like with other versions of GB-PVR or Hauppauges Wintv2000 software? When did you last rebuild/reinstal your Windows? It's amazing how many little quirks pile up to cause one big problem, and it can be cleared up with a windows reinstall... (Usually makes things faster too!) Why not use the Hwclear program, and shutdown. Physically remove the card and restart. Run the hwclear again. (Stand on your head just for fun), Check Bios, see if you can reset the PNP cards, NVRAM etc. Make sure PNP aware os is set to no... This is all a stab in the dark. It's possible that the card just isn't being picked up in windows correctly... Anyway, put your card in again, and cancel the hardware wizard, install the right drivers, reg patch, middleware, restart... I hope some of this helps, though I know it's quite a stab in the dark Frank

"Oh, and don't forget to remove that space between "servic" and "es""
Can you clarify what you mean by this?

I think he means the underlined bold part underneath:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\hcwPP2\DriverData] "HcwTimeStampIssue1"=dword:00000001 "HcwTimeStampIssue2"=dword:00000000 It should be: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hcwPP2\DriverData] "HcwTimeStampIssue1"=dword:00000001 "HcwTimeStampIssue2"=dword:00000000
