I think that for some reason, some of the channels that were detected don't actually come in, and I didn't spend enough time patiently waiting for video to come up.

So now I got some of the channels to display video, but no audio. I assume there should be audio in the channel mapping utility?

Yes, assuming the system default decoder copes with the AC3 audio used on these channels.

Audio works fine in the OnAir App. Here are the GB-PVR audio decoder settings: Audio Decoder (NVIDIA), Audio Renderer (System Default.)

I have the following decoders available:
"MPEG Decoder," Nero, and NVIDA.

The following renderers are available:
RealTek AC97, and DirectSound Realtek AC97.

Do I need to get an AC-3 decoder, or do you already know if any of these are capable/incapable?

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm sure you're aware, but the vast majority of your channels are encrypted, so wont be usable. Those that are in clear QAM should be fine.

The nvidia one should be capable, but I wouldnt worry too much if the audio is not showing up in the config app. Its more of an issue if you dont get it in GB-PVR.

Dont use the nero decoder. It causes nothing but problems.

I ran the application with a couple of channels configured, and still no audio. Any ideas?

Also, on an unrelated note, it takes a very long time (about two minutes) after hitting "OK" when I'm finished with the config tool. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Jeff

It'll be something to do with the audio decoder. You could try downloading ffmpeg audio or AC3 filter.

No, it usually wouldnt take this long.

OK I'll try downloading additional audio decoders, but you did get the message that audio works fine in the OnAir application, right?

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, but there are lots of reason why they might not work with GB-PVR.

Some OEM versions of decoders require licensing info to be passed to the decoders by the program using them before they'll do AC3 audio (Cyberlink decoders spring to mind). Nvidia may be doing this if these decoders are included with the OnAir app.

OK, so back to the MCE machine.. I patched everything and updated the QAM file, but still no channels are picked up. Here are the logs. Thanks again for all of your help getting me up and running!

I'll report back in a few minutes about the AC3 install, the licensing sounds like that could be the problem.
