I still have the same problem, version disappears fast. SearchWiz.dll properties say Assembly Version is 0.4.5.0. Noticed the SearchWiz_ReadMe.txt says 0.4.4 at the top, yet in history info it has 0.4.5 listed Smile

Hmm. Wonder if the new version is not being updated since I kept the same number. I've posted version 0.4.6 on the Wiki, you might try that.

0.4.6 seems to be working. Version stays displayed until I hit a button. The 2 minute timer on it you mentioned doesn't seem to occur, I waited over 5 minutes and version was still displayed.

Actually, that is how it is designed. It will display for 2 minutes(regardless of how many renders), after that it will be hidden.

Did you have any better luck with your program images this time? If not, send me the logs, the log messages should point out where the problem is.

I'm saying that after 2 minutes, the version is STILL displayed on the screen. I waited for 5 minutes and it wasn't removed. I spoke too soon, because the version sometimes is still removed instantly when I select Search Wizard. How can I help debug this issue?

The show image problem is still there. Log is attached.

When using the SMS mode, there is no way to know when the delay is finished and you can type the next character (when two or more adjacent characters are from the same remote button).

You could mimic what is done on many cell-phones, and have some kind of cursor that moves, so when it "jumps" to after the last letter, then you know you can type the next one.

Also - is there a way to delete one characters (again, in SMS mode)?

Do the arrow-keys work and allow you to move between the characters?

There are searches I repeat. So, it could be nice to save the search, and then just select it from a list that will make it "run" again.

For example - we many times search to see if there is any "Law and Order" playing tonight. So, I'd have to go to the SearchWiz (or the built-in search, but now SearchWiz is my default...) and start typing (in SMS mode...) "Law and".

If I could have a list of saved search ("Law and"; "CSI") then I could much quicker browse them.

similar to what was added just these days to the EWA (Although the way they chose to implement it, in my mind, has one redundant "click").

Wanted to reiterate what you said, on cell phones you can hit cursor left or right to indicate SMS mode is done for the current char. If I want to type "AB", I hit A once, cursor right, then hit A twice to get B. Or I can hit A once, wait a few seconds for cursor to automatically advance, then hit A twice to get B.

I was having a similar problem trying to figure this out. I will do some more research and see if I can't figure something out.

I believe the Back/Exit button will delete the last character entered.

No, I don't believe they do, but there are a couple features to the PhoneKeys control that I have not explored yet. I will take a look at these features and see if they can't provide some functionality that you are looking for.

Good idea.
You can save a 'default' search in the Config.exe, but I like the idea of being able to save several 'canned' searches and somehow selecting them so you don't have to stage all the variables.

I'll look at this for a future version.

After doing some playing around, I don't think there is an easy way to have a visual cursor for the SMS entry mode.

- The Back/Exit key will erase the last char in the string (as long as there are characters, and your focus is on the input field).

I am using the PhoneKeys object in the CommonGBPVRUtilities class. Unfortunately, in order to provide some of the features you are requesting, I think I may have to write my own version. I will think about doing this, but right now I don't have time.

I will also look at adding a feature to save or store canned queries. They will probably be setup via the Config application and will be able to be recalled for execution via the online screen in some manner.
