It should automatically update the EPG (re-read the .xml file) from then on (you'll have to either run a Windows Scheduled Job to run the file to generate the .xml file, or add the path\to\file.exe to the UpdateEPG.bat file)

IMHO, it's worth setting up xmltv just to get a feel for how it works before messing with the new solutions. That way you're only learning one thing at a time Smile

EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks.

This is great that folks are jumping on this to replace Zap2It. THANK YOU!

I'm been trying this on a test machine and a couple of things:

1) like others, my Digital vs. Analog lineups are identical. Digital stations are no listed.

2) While my guide is accurate for analog channels, channel numbers are no longer listed in the first column - only station call letters. I'm not sure if this is normal for Yahoo listings.

I had the same problem after running the api download and the patch, now I also use ReplChanList, from http://www.prize.nl/software/pvr/xmltv.html in my updateepg.bat

I changed the cut channel list from the patched.xml file and then used ReplChanList to replace it and re-merge it with patched.xml. The edited version I created contain channels numbers, that I added and like zap2it had.

When I imported this file in config, and subsequently during the daily update in updateepg.bat, I get the channels list and schedule the way I would like.

Alright, I can handle that.

Perhaps -Oz- can add these options to the program (along with the PATCH.EXE too). I'd rather just run one tool to make it all happen magically. Big Grin

The first time I tried this program on Monday everything worked perfectly... Today I keep getting "ERROR: Cannot determine schedule file". Any ideas what I'm doing wrong today that I didn't do Monday?

Thanks,
Microchip

Thank you

Using this app or the one I wrote in the other thread? If it is the one I wrote, I responded in that thread. I am not aware the app in this thread having the issue, but you can open the xml file in notepad and double check that your start times are "+0000". If not, run a find/replace.

I've removed the patch from post #44 because I've noticed quite a bit of confusion between this (the -Oz-) utility and your working utility located here.
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27546

Hopefully removing the patch will avoid some of the confusion between the two, until -Oz- updates his utility with the needed changes.
