Whurlston,

No, there's nothing to map. When I click on the box to do that, and it starts scanning, it doesn't find any channels. When I use HDHR's utils, and specify digital cable, it finds channels. If I try OTA, it doesn't.

Are you sure there isn't some place I have to specify OTA or QAM? I see that many other devices have 2 entries, one for OTA and one for QAM.

I meant the HDHomeRun channel editor. If you run the HDHomeRun Setup, in the "Tuners" tab, "Signal Source" should be set to "Advanced". You can then set your tuners to "Digital Antenna" or "Digital cable" on a per tuner basis. The application should be set to "Custom" for both. Then select the "Lineup" tab. Select the tuner that is set to Digital Cable and perform a scan.

That process has to be completed to remap the QAM channels to OTA channels. Once that is done, you can scan with GBPVR.

Whurlston,

You are correct! After my last post I went back to the Silicon Dust forums and re-read the instructions on how to setup GBPVR. I missed one statement that sent me to a link on their site that said I had to do what you describe above for QAM. I was just coming back here to report success!

The OP should add that step for QAM to his nice setup documentation.

Thanks for the help!

I am starting to feel, not so smart Big Grin

I have been using PVRX with an analog capture card for years without any problems. Wanted a clear QAM solution and ordered a HDHomerun.

-Installed hardware
-Installed Software
-Added lines to BDA.ini in GBPVR directory
-Scan channels in HDHR software. Found lots of channels.
-Added capture sources to PVRX and updated EPG
-Map Digital channels and nothing found.

Rats.

Anyone know what I have/have not done to get HDHR working in PVRX? Thanks

That quote is a little outdated. The application should be set to GBPVR. As for no channels found, it's most likely the wrong frequency being scanned. Try copying the qam.ini from the HVR-1600 folder. It contains the center frequencies for channels.

Tried that and it didn't pick up any channels. I can see all the channels using the HDHR software and VLC. I just can't get PVRX to see anything. Do I have to change a setting in the config file or another setting someplace? Thanks for the help.

BTW, it lists the tuner as ATSC if that matters?

Did you use the instructions at the start of this thread or the new ones? New instructions: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=36634

I used the new instructions for GBPVR. It looks like PVRX just isn't scanning the right frequencies.

Run a scan with hdhomerun_config

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config" <id> scan 0 scan.log

and zip and post the scan.log for me and I can create a qam.ini for you.

I looked for the scan.log file and couldn't find it. I did a scan with the channel editor and it starts at about 850MHz and ends around 61MHz with about 123 channels found. I am using Time Warner Cable if that helps. Thanks.
