Pluto TV will be better after sub's next server update. There will be a way of updating the guide more frequently and it has been working very well for me in testing.

I know this is really for sub, but any idea when this next release of npvr might actually be released?

No sorry I don't. I am hoping it isn't rushed though since I'd like sub to make a few more changes I've asked for another upcoming project a Roku player for NextPVR. Since The TVDB is supposed to be going behind a pay wall this month I expect the release will happen before that happens.

Martin:
As discussed above, the installing Streamlink from their ubunutu guide installs version 1.7. After trying it and finding it didn't work, I upgraded to version 2.0 per zinoy's post with "pip3 install --upgrade streamlink " After that, I was able to stream, but could not get EPG info. There is a pluto-xmltv.xml file in the //var/opt/nextpvr directory, but it was yesterday's file. Running EPG update did not update the file. I ran pluto.py again and it generates a new xmltv.xml file and an Extra file. Then I get: "Adding extras file to NextPVR Cannot modify existing lineup, exiting." The channels mapped to XMLTV are updated, but the pluto-xmltv.xml file does not change the next time I ask NextPVR to update EPG. I suspect that I have something wrong since I loaded Streamlink 1.7 first. I am working on my ubuntu tenderfoot merit badge, but still need some guidance, please! Bob

It seems either you didn't follow the steps in post #2 or you didn't chmod +x the sh file. Also as there are only 4-5 hours of data you will have to run the update when you need data.

I did not follow post #2. I thought that was for editing the channel list. I apologize. Seems to work now. Thank you very much.

Still looking for the sh file. UpdateEPG.sh does not show up in searches.
Also, is it possible to install another extra Plutotv device to be able to view and record at same time? Bob

Answers to both these questions can be found on forum or wiki searches just spend a little more time.
