I installed the new mux from TwinHan and it's made a big difference. I scheduled recordings all day yesterday and all of them succeeded. I was getting 30-40% failure rate before.
the new mux + turning off my filter software (cybersitter) seems to be working so far (a few days now with no 0kb recording) - if this success continues it would have been turning off cybersitter that made the difference I think
I'm not sure how the filter software could impact GB-PVR? It definitely gives rise to some java errors associated with the gbpvr client not being able to contact the recording service - perhaps after these errors appears it then can affect the recordings somehow and give rise to a 0kb file?
I hate to reopen this thread, but I can't get rid of the problem of 0 kb recordings.
Neither my new BDA card or the old Hauppauge 250 produce files above 0 kb. Nothing visible in the logs apart from the others in this thread (i.e. Lock=0 but signal=255).
Twinhan Cyberlink THmpgmux didn't change a thing.
What worries me is that the analog card is failing too. Surely it has nothing to do with the signal lock then, as there is no such thing for the pvr-250.
Setup:
PVR-150
New install of WinXP and GBPVR (installed 4 days ago)
Intervideo mux (that is found under the "Misc" tab, right?)
I'm new to GBPVR, but I do have it working ok except for these 0kb recordings. Sometimes if I catch it in time, I can go into GBPVR again and cancel and then quick record the file. I did this with CSI last night and on the fourth cancel-quick record cycle, it finally started recording properly.
Since I'm new, I'm not sure which log files I should be submitting?
Here are my logs. I tried to record Firefly off Sci-Fi channel on Friday the 6th from 7-8pm using Quick Record.
I also tried CSI off CBS on Thursday the 5th from 9-10pm using regular weekly record. That didn't work so I cancelled it, tried again and finally got it to record properly using Quick Record.
