I have an ATI TV Wonder Pro and used the SoftwareRecorder plugin to get live tv to appear. It looks perfect, but whenever I try to choose a show to record, it doesn't record it. When I go to the listing in the recordings section, it shows how many of each show it was supposed to record but when I click them it shows "failure" on every one of them. What do I need to do to get this working?

ATI multimedia center works and records perfectly, it just doesn't have the TV guide to record shows
I used ATI Avivo Video Conterter 1.12 for the encoder but I'm not entirely sure it installed correctly.
I'm using windows 2000 if that makes any difference

I just tried to install this plugin on a Windows 2K system with with an MSI NX6600 VTD256 VIVO card. I moved the files, did the configuration, then restarted the service. However, when I select "Watch Live TV" I get the following error: "Error: The parameter is incorrect". My logs are attached. Thank you very much Norman or whomever else may have a moment to look at this! You're doing an awesome service to the community. :-)

Gam3r - the link for the correct plugin page is on the first entry of this thread (along with a number of other instructions you should read - might clear up questions before you have to ask them).

Right! Post #1000!

Things have really come a long way, eh?

teleute: looks like it forgot to save the oid. If you edit the config-records.xml file and change the oid from 0 to 2, it should work better. (You could probably re-configure it too - I'm unsure)

There's this oid not saving bug, and a small tweak for strange muting that uksa007 is experiencing that I might be looking at fixing within the next week or two.

After that I'd like to wind down on development of the WDM plugin. It seems to be working well for most people, but I need a break with some R&R for a while. If anyone feels like responding to questions here, please feel free. If anyone wants to work on a FAQ, I think that would be greatly appreciated.

Not to say I won't be back, just I'll be away for a while, and don't expect me to respond to requests asap.

Hi Norman;

Well, I hope you enjoy your well-deserved rest, and know that we definitely do appreciate all the time you've put into this.

That being said...;-) I made the change you suggested (although I'm hoping you meant the file config-recorders.xml, since I don't have a config-records.xml). However, I saw no change in behaviour. Here's my new logs, in case you or anyone else feels like taking a moment to poke at them. Thanks again!

I thought I did, but I just tried it again. Under capture, WDM was selected. I hit the "settings" button, and got the following error:

"An unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.

No video capture devices found!"

I've attached the details. The card is definitely properly installed, and all drivers...also, the video out function of the card has been tested and is working fine. Is there any other way to test the video in function? Or should I turn on the JIT debugging, like in the message?

Thanks!

Hmmm...this is interesting. I reinstalled my video capture drivers, and now I can get into the settings without errors and actually do stuff in there. I set everything up, restarted the service, and tried again. I go to LiveTV and get "Error: Unspecified Error". This might be progress...at least it's a different message. ;-)

New logs are attached. One interesting thing I noticed - I'm using the S-video, not composite. So in settings, in the appropriate drop-down, I selected S-vid rather than composite. Yet when I click OK, and then go back in (whether after a restart or immediately), it's reverted back to composite. Might this be related to the issue?

Thanks again.

EDIT: I tried setting the S-video manually in the config xml file, but it didn't seem to have an effect. (Attached logs have been updated.)

Yea, the first error was because it couldn't find any video capture devices, so clearly re-installing them helped.

The second error is because it can't find a tuner - You need to set Tuning to None.

build 26 is out:

- Added option for playback and recording sharing same mixer.
- Minor tweak to make first time set up better.

Fixes for uksa007 and an 'initial configuration not saving' bug I spotted in teleute's logs.
