Yes it does.

normanr knows what is needed, and has indicated he'll make the change, but I'm not sure how far along he is.

If I remember correctly, if something matches the video wildcard, then it can't match the audio wildcard, (etc). So if you don't make the match specific enough, then you can't select any audio encoder or mux.

Yes, and as sub says I know what needs changing. Basically it just needs a recompile, after the new GB-PVR release has been installed.

Hi Norman,

So, what do you mean by recompile? Are you releaseing a new version or do I just have to reinitialize the plugin?

jam_zhou: for the plugin to work with 0.97+ a new version will have to be released.

is that I must download "Elecard MPEG-2 Encoder Std Pack" for MPEG 2 Encoder?

Can I use "Canopus Edius 2.0" for MPEG 2 Encoder?

The preferred encoders are the "ATI AVIVO Encoders". With regards to the canopus encoders - I have no idea if they will work, I don't have the package so I can't tell. Try it, and report back!

I had a poke around at the ATI avivo encoder and I managed to find the location of the default bitrates.

File: atidvcr.dll
Version 9.12.0.51129

Offset 0x0005CA17 default VBR peak bitrate
Offset 0x0005CA21 default average bitrate

Both 32bit integer values.

There is a new release that works with the latest version of GBPVR?

Not yet, I haven't had the time to sit down and do the required change yet. I was hoping to look at it this weekend maybe.

After seeing how technically advance most in this thread are, I feel a bit apprehensive to post. But you all seem very nice. Smile

I am currently running GBPVR with an ATI TV Wonder Pro. When installing your files where do I put the files? It says to copy them to my GBPVR directory. I can do that, but am I supposed to overwrite the plugins directory or just copy from plugins to plugins as to not over write the plugins directory in GBPVR?

Where do I set up the “WDM Software Encoder Recorder” in GBPVR? Then what do I do?

Are there any files/configs that I need to edit?

I have the rest of GBPVR up and going pretty good (EPG/Photos/Music). Those certainly help on the “wife acceptance factor” but I need to get TV (watching/recording/shifting) working before I can get this thing into my entertainment center. A case as beautiful as the Antec Aria should be in the living room and not in the spare bedroom! Cool

Edit: I tried Media Portal and didn't care for it, I love GBPVR and really don't want to go back to using the ATI software. I didn't care for it, and neither did the wife. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!
