normanr: I think I see what you mean by using GraphEdit. Check the before and after screenshots in the attached ZIP.

In the before shot, "Audio Decoder Out" from Conexant Crossbar is not connected to anything, but "Video Decoder Out" is connected. This would explain why I get video but no sound.

In the after shot, I edited lastgraph.grf manually to connect "Audio Decoder Out" from Conexant Crossbar to "Aux" of the Audio Capture Device. However, when I run GRPVR again it just overwrites lastgraph.grf.


How can I apply this change permanently? Why doesn't GBPVR config make the connection for me? Is it a bug or a limitation of the Software Recorder plugin?

yes, it would. I never would have thought that two pins with the same name were allowed. Unfortunaly I just detect the name and pass it to GB-PVR for rendering, so the fix needs to be made in the core GB-PVR code. (Fix to detect pin type?)

This is a post from a few pages back, but I just wanted to second that I *think* I'm having the same problem. Certainly I get the same error message when trying to set up my card (Plextor PX-TV100U) if I try to select "Capture" for Audio and for Video.

justincranford: Does the Graph work if you 'play' it in GraphEdit? If so you try using the 'Use Video Card as source for Audio Card' option. There's potentionally another plugin somewhere that would allow you to 'play' grf files, but I don't think it's been released yet.

autumnmist: can you supply a screenshot of your capture card? If it does have two pins with the same name are you up for trying to hex-edit your drivers? I did ask sub to have a look, but I'm not sure if anything got tweaked. FYI: Non-preview Mode should work.

I've installed the AVIVO encoder and installed the sofwtarre recorder...The field for the encoder gives me a blank. I'm trying to get my 9600xt AIW to work.

How do I get an encoder to show up?

found it had to add it to the config-recoder.xml file...now how to test!!

Well using ati mpeg video encoder doesn't work will try the multimedia video encoder next

You need to copy the globalSettings from the sample xml file. It should look something like:

I can watch the LiveTV but records nothings. Attached my gbpvr logfiles for your reference, could you help me?

I was able to get video easily using recorder_test.exe but no sound...I think the problem was setting the audio cross bars...if your next version can allow for this it might get more AIW users really happy.

I had to set it to IN: 4. Audio Tuner IN OUT:3. Audio decoder out - this was in addition to connecting to the proper pins...i.e right click and set the properties.
