Currently, I have a Hauppage PVR500MCE card installed. My cable service is Cox Cable digital/HD. I've since added a SA 8300HD DVR. I discovered that Cox allows "free" standard cable (channels 2-72) which I was told was as simple as running coax to whatever whatever TVs I wanted to hook up. Cool! I'd like to run coax to the Hauppage. However, the Hauppage only has a coax input for tuner 0, tuner 1 only has an S-Video hookup.

I'm puzzled as to how I can access the 2nd tuner...Can someone lend me a clue?

I'm using GB-PVR mainly for playing back MP3s and my ripped to AVI DVD collection. I love it, but would like to start using the Hauppage to record SD cable.

Thanks for any help...

There is an internal splitter. The coax input goes to both tuners.

Just as a followup...

The hookup with standard cable worked so fine, I've decided to add another PVR500 to my rig. Any caveats regarding setup?

Free standard cable because you are purchasing digital cable? I have Cox for broadband internet, but no cable service, I never thought to attempt to simple check the line.

Be interesting to see if it works for you!

No feedback regarding my additional PVR500MCE, but reading the forums leads me to think that it should work w/o much hassle. I'm still interested in any gotchas.

I dunno how it works where you are but around here they haven't figured out a way to filter full-tier cable when you have the high-speed cable internet. Its worth a try.

Just to followup, I added a PVR150 to my system and it worked w/o a hitch.

I can note that you may have a problem with the PVR500 and 150 mix....I never had problems until I went from 2 PVR 150's to one PVR500 and one PVR150.

I am hopping....and it appears to be true....that these drivers with the registry update below have addressed my issues.

Reg Mod:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\hcwPP2\DriverData
"HcwTimeStampIssue1"=dword:00000001
"HcwTimeStampIssue2"=dword:00000000

More info in this thread.....the drivers above are talked about at the end of the thread since they are newer than what was originally posted.
