Hi,
Guys is there any information on developing, your own plugins
for Beginners. I would be interested in trying to learn. If not I 'll leave it to the experts. What about a Diary/reminder/Calender/Contacts and phone numbers plugin.

Actually I already wrote a phone number plugin. Along with a dvd database browser and client side app, and finally a movie theater plugin to show me the movie times. If you want I can send you the code for the address book.

As for the diary, calendar if you have any familiarity with C# (if not as long as you are familar with C/C++ you can get by).

I had no experience with C# and got a plugin working in my first day.

I would start by download the comics plugin. It is really not that difficult. The hardest thing you are going to find is that you can not use windows forms, but would have to use the graphics object to draw the boxes from scratch. Which is disappointing since that makes my web browser plugin hope much more difficult.

I would think that the calendar would not have a lot of real estate on the screen. But I am sure you can show it week by week or something.

I would strongly suggest that you download it and give it a shot. If you have any problems just post your question and we will help you out. Those would be cool plugins.

I also want to do a receipe plugin.

I dont really have any formal documentation, but once you take a look at a couple of the samples I'm sure you'll find the not too difficult.

I'm always here to answer any questions you may have.

Hi jorm,

Thanks for the reply. I would like to have a look at the plugins you have developed. Why have you not posted them to the Plugin downloads?

As for programming with C # I wouldn't have a clue.
What Utilities do you need for the complete beginner?

you could try using sharpdevelop which is a free software development for c#. i use that for my movieDB-plugin. you can import the visual-studio files of any plugin.

the main file is the pluginNameTask.cs. for the jukebox-plugin this is jukeboxPluginTask.cs. in this file all the action on the screen takes place. just try a bit, it isn't that difficult.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the info and suggestions. Would it be easy to add a pgn down/up option to the Jukebox, so that you can list the songs more quickly ,instead of one song at a time. Also it would be handy to go from the music Lib, to the Jukebox with an added option on the Music Lib Menu. This would be for the wishlist I suppose.

Hi all.
Can a custom plugin get access to the input and output stream. For example.
Create a 5 min delay from the radio tuner input and allow a FFwd in 30secs increments. to skip over commercials

thanks
