No sound on some recordings

I currently have PVR 350 and PVR500MCE cards installed. I have tested by recording 3 channels at once, recording 2 channels and watching live TV at the same time. All works well but I also get shows that record with no sound. Some times it is just when a single show is scheduled to record. Then some times it will happen when a second show records while the first is still recording. I have not been able to narrow it down to a specific device. I installed the PVR350 first and was using that with out any problem. I added the PVR500MCE later. For the most part everything works great. Thanks for the great software. I'm still learning how to setup a lot of things at this point. Anyone who could shed some light on my problem would be appreciated.

Not sure if its exactly the same issue but I had a similar problem with a PVR-250 when used to record TV with Windows Media Center. Some recordings had sound, some didn't, there was no obvious pattern to it. In the end, it turned out to be Hauppauge's rubbish drivers and an updated version from shspvr.com sorted it out.

I recommend you look on that site for the latest driver for each of your cards and try it again.

I have exactly the same issue with my PVR350 + PVR150MCE. I change to GBPVR 96.12 and I install the MCE 2005 Remote. After this I have sometimes recordings without sound. All my files without sound have very low quality. I have no file without sound and high quality. I don't now this is systematically. Form my feeling this is not a driver problem. It can be a IRQ problem because the my remote shared a IRQ withe the sound and the PVR Card.

I am having the no sound problem, but all of the silent recordings are from the same channel
(22-cartoon network)

I noticed the pattern yesterday (only 3rd day of playing with this thing).
today I set it up to record 4 shows, 2 of them on ch22.
just as expected, those 2 had no sound.
no settings were changed during this time.

any advise??

I changed back do version 95.16 and have no files without sound for 2 days. I will try this old version for one week. After my test, I give a feedback at this thread (next Monday).

Now I have with 95.16 one file without sound, I think GBPVR is not the problem. Next I uninstall my MCE remote.

Sometimes when people have sound issues on ony one or a few channels, it has been that they need to fine tune the frequencies of those channels.

I too have been having the problem of some recordings not having sound.

I have 3 Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150MCE and at first thought one of them had a problem. But the problem seems to be random. The recording could be from any one of them and doesn't seem to matter how many recordings are happening at the same time.

I will be "listening" to see if anyone has an idea that might help find the problem.

The 150 has driver issues with sound loss on some drivers. Try other drivers from shspvr.com and see if that helps.

I take the new PVR150MCE driver from shspvr.com and have 1 week
no files without sound :-)
