Question about Web Interface

My problem is that gbpvr does not just accept requests on this port, you have to tell it http://xxxxxxx/gbpvr/manage.aspx. there is no way in my router, or with no-ip.com, to specify this sub-directory...any help?

You shouldnt have to tell your router about any of this stuff. The no-ip.com and router only really solve the bit of the url marked 'xxxxxx'. This is enough to make sure the complete request is routed to the correct ip address and port on your internal network. From there web server built into GB-PVR is responsible for dealing with parsing the directories etc.

okay...then i must have something set up wrong. If I understand you correctly....this means i should just be able to open a browser on a computer on my home network, and punch in the ip of the gbpvr box (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7647) and it will come up. I can't do that, i HAVE to punch in (xxx.xxx.xxxx.xxx:7647/gbpvr/manage.aspx). I'm assumming there is something broken here?

The error i get with just the ip is:

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
HTTP Error 404 - Not Found.
Version Information: Cassini Web Server 1.0.2254.33789

You should have to type in http://xxx.xxx.xxxx.xxx:7647/gbpvr/manage.aspx. That is the correct behaviour.

but coming from the internet, i don't? At what point in the process from no-ip.com--router--gbpvr box, does the request know to go to that directory?

Coming from the internet you have to do that too e.g:
http://nv40.no-ip.com:7647/gbpvr/manage.aspx

Make sure your router forwards the port you are using to you your server, you do that in the nat-config

That's what I thought, but it still isn't working. I might just scrap this idea and learn about setting up a vpn to my home, that will probably offer me more options anyway.

If you have the windows firewall working you need to open port 7647 there as well.
