I was hoping someone could suggest the best (non web) calendar application for inputting Ical data.
I want a calendar file on the desktop read across the network calendar plug in on the HTPC. - It seems Ical the program is mac only - I canât enter events on MonoCalander? Not sure what is going on there. - I would love to interface with outlook but it would need to do so automatically. I donât want to export/import all the time. Any recommendations appreciated.
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual) DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3). Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler. Sits in rack with other HiFi. ParaLED to show tuner activity. Display: 42" 1920x1080p Panasonic Plasma 1x wired MVP 1x PC client
I've been using Mozzila sunbird. Its only at version 0.3 but I've had no problems with it.

Good job so far! Really impressed =) I assume you want input? It seems like you don't have support for åäö and possibly other non-us-ascii characters... It did however browse my google calendar, which I haven't been able to get sunbird to do yet =) Keep up the good work!

Ok, so for the wishlist.
1) Wishing high, and I'm not quite sure how you'd do it in a good way, but it would be nice if you could somehow see all your calendars at the same time. Colored differently, perhaps. Something along the way that google calendar does it. I realize it's a tight fit, but... =) 2) View over the week in addition to the month. 3) Configurable "week starts with". Us Swedes insist that the week starts with a Monday, not with a Sunday

stefan: Your first wish would be good to do but not sure how practical it would be. Not much space left and remember text needs to be readable from 6ft.
The other 2 wishes are already on my own wishlist / todo list. Us Brits also inist the week starts on a Monday

Id second Sunbird....but Rainlender is also very good. it displays your calender right on the desktop in a very unobtrusive fashion. skinnable too, and works with Ical files. If you just want the basics id say give it a go. Rainlender on my desktop: Quote:- I would love to interface with outlook but it would need to do so automatically. I found this addon to outlook for subscribing to iCal feeds, it seems to work well: RemoteCalendar Also see this blog for discussion on various methods of how to do iCal>Outlook
