Right now i'm using a PixelView PlayTV Pro 2 tv card and it works fine (without clipping) but timeshifting is not working (it shows a message saying that there is no TV card available...). Also TV card output quality is a bit low (comparing with the supplied tv application that comes with my crad), where can i select the output resolution and quality for my tv card in this plugin?

Turn off 'Use Video Card as source for Audio Card'.
You can configure the quality by selecting the quality profile and pressing Edit in the software recorder configuration window.

I've turned off that, as you requested, but still there is no timeshifting and i can't record... It says ofr a few seconds 'starting timeshifting...' and then it says: 'there is not available tuner...'

I'm thinking I might be doing something incrediyl stupid here, but I've downloaded both the Software Recorder Plug-In and the ATI Avivo encoder, and installed both.
I'm able to preview Live TV just fine, but don't have any ability to record shows or pause live TV - I believe the system isn't recongnizing that the encoder is installed. When I go to change the settings on the WDM Software Encoder Recorder after saving it, I can select my card (ATI TV Wonder) just fine....however, in the video encoder sextion just below that, I don't have any options at all...just a blank pull-down. I'm thinking something should normally be there, but I'm not having any luck. Any idea what could be causing the system to not recognzing the Avivo encoder's installed? Thanks,

CAJason80, you probably didn't put the encoder into the config-recorders.xml file. Go in there and edit it with notpad and add the encoder names - you can confirm the name by using graphedit.
The field is a wild card, so if you are lazy, then just put "encoder" and it'll find any directshow filter with "encoder" in it's name. The same goes for muxes.

Any idea? I've tried using other codecs, reinstalling the PVR software supplied with my TV card, but my efforts are useless... timeshifting and recording does not work...
.:FiDo:.
Thanks jam -
The encoder was actually in the config-recorders.xml file, but the wildcard wasn't set correctly, for some reason. The wildcard for the video was "MPEG2 Video Encoder", so when I ran config, it never gave me any options. Switched it to "Video Encoder" and that fixed it just fine, I think. I can see the Elecard Video Encoder and the "ATI MPEG Video Encoder" - I assume that's the Avivo encoder? Anyhow, I'm still not having any luck pausing and recording, even after selecting the encoders. Still having the same problems. I've attached my logs and the GraphEdit screenshot - the GraphEdit SS looks a little threadbare to me. Think I still might be doing something wrong. I'm still not gettin an option for the muxer, either. Thanks for the help on the first part, though! jam_zhou Wrote:CAJason80, you probably didn't put the encoder into the config-recorders.xml file. Never mind, finally figuired it out. For some reason the muxer never installed properly on my computer. Downloaded the muxer config and noticed nothing was showing up.....downloaded the Cyberlink muxer, re-selected the Elecard encoders, and I'm good to go.

Does the new release require an update to the software recorder plug in? And if so, is it on the way?
