should be a new version here next week...trying to add chapter points from the comskip files...Big Grin will enable skipping commercials with your dvd player Smile [kinda]
also needs some batch cleanup and maybe a bit more logging and better compression options if you choose to go that route..
just remember to rename your ffmpeg.exe to fmpeg.exe !!first!! for it all to work and to keep ffmpeg available..[just reference it with fmpeg.exe instead]

This looks like a great batch file.

I'm having trouble getting it to run from the command line.

I've run the four files I want to burn through the mencoder batch file with no problems.

The showburner directory is installed under /gbpvr/ and the burndvd.bat is installed in gbpvr. Graphics Magick is stored under /gbpvr/showburner/GraphicsMagick-1.1.7 Does it need to be installed before it can be used?

When I call burndvd.bat add with the file I want to burn, the file is added to the queue, but I get an error message
Code:
The system cannot find the batch label specified - end

The batch file then exits in the showburner directory, so I have to change back to the gbpvr directory before I can add another file.

If I ignore these errors and try to burn the dvd, I get warnings from dvdauthor that i can't find cygwin1.dll then from spumux.exe and dvdauthmenu that they can't find cygwin1.dll either.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

oops, that should read :eof instead...will modify and upload later, but you can change that to fix it yourself..that was the only reference i found to it...
as for gm.exe... just copy all the files from it's installation dir to the gbpvr\showburner\ dir and it'll work just fine...am working on a fix to use it from it's installed dir but not there yet..the exe must be in same dir as dvdauthor.exe etc. [where most of the processing goes on..]
[there should be a gm.exe and several .dll files..if not, install it..]
you can also make a quikie dvd cover by pasting the menu background.jpg onto a cover sheet..Smile

note: transcoding is optional...ffmpeg just makes the files dvd compatible without touching the compression..[very fast]
so as long as the files fit on a dvd you won't need to recompress..

i need to adjust the total size to what will fit on a standard dvd disc..ffmpeg seems to shrink[?!?] the files by a few bytes when preparing them so will have to use trial and error for final total size..
thanx for catching that one..silly me..Smile

Excellent will fix the batch file.

So will putting the graphics magick exe in the same place as dvdauthor fix the problem of cygwin1.dll being missing? I can't see cygwin1.dll in the graphics magick directory anywhere.

Sorry if i'm being stupid.

another one...sorry about that...if i could have uploaded the whole file things like this wouldn't happen...it is only 7 megs..but i can't seem to upload more than 1 meg of anything..and some parts wouldn't seperate without a lot of effort re-assembling..
the cygwin1 file comes with dvdauthor..i thought it was part of graphicks magick too..my bad..
trying to upload those now...

too big...you can find them in the regular dvdauthor package so just download from the web and put those files in showburner dir and you're all set..
maybe i can catch the wiki up for long enough to upload it all there...lol
hope that helps...i've been using it for month so know it works..Smile

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

If it all works I'll post a detailed description of where to get all the files from.

Why not just upload the minimum files required to make the batch files work? People can download dvdauthor, graphics magick and recinfo themselves if they know which links to click to find them...

yea,was gonna just upload the whole thing to the wiki but it's been a bit slow lately..will figure something out soon..Smile thanx for finding the probs..
was looking for a new muxer, seems dvdauthor actually only needs those cygwin files for the spumux.. also trying to compile the dvdauthor myself to get a good single version that will do buttons and add titles right..[and a new spumux without dependancies]
already started working on an installer so things will be automated..

also, not sure if recinfo will work at all on 97.7 [.net2.0]so will look into that as it could break it..[but sure nice to have episode title at top of movies Smile]

pBS Wrote:It adjusts for up to 4 movies per dvd, makes thumbnails and adds titles and burns the whole thing if you have Nero installed...
[adjust path in batch file]

OK, I"m kinda all over the place trying to follow this but I'll give it a shot. Maybe if I put it off long enough the installer will appear magickally, as it were.

About Nero; I haven't used that much, not in years anyway; for DVD authoring, which versions are OK?

Something like Nero Suite 6.6 OEM, or would one need the Nero 7 Ultra Edition? The former I can get for $5, the latter, $28 Smile

Thanks! for neat-looking plugin.
