Hey All,

here is my first rev. for a radio plugin for those with FM cards. Radio Plugin.

This is for the hauppauge radio at the minute, but i'll add in the start and stop command line config to the configuration section so that other radio apps can be used.

If anyone has a sample command line of other radio apps they can send me that would be usefulSmile

Post issues here,

thanks
Colin.

If you (or someone else) is up to making a real radio plugin, that can save the sound as mp3, then look at this graph:

http://www.shspvr.com/graph_build/fm_mp3_recording.html

My version of the graph can be downloaded here: pvr-radio.GRF

The Lame MP3 encoder is here: lame_dshow.zip

And if you need GraphEdit, then it's right here: graphedt9.zip

With this graph it should be posible make a radio player and to schedule radio recordings.

I'll leave that for someone who actually has an FM radio card. I think that may be difficult to develop without one of these,

cheers,
Colin.

nkh: Thanks! Possible to get the source for your graph? Ideally we would like to get the radio audio and play it directly, not store it out as MP3 first, then read it back in to play it.

Hehe, I don't quite know what you mean with 'source', but this is what graphedit saves http://www.nk-h.dk/pvr-radio.GRF [Image: smile.gif]

I just followed this http://www.shspvr.com/graph_build/fm_mp3_recording.html and changed a couple of things (I couldn't find all the things he uses, but it works fine anyway).

The graph both playes the audio directly and encodes an mp3 file, you can just remove the mp3 encoder and file writer and it'll just play the audio (for listening to the radio), or you can remove the default directsound device and it'll only record the mp3 file (for scheduled radio recordings).

I have made a picture of what my graph looks like http://www.nk-h.dk/pvr-radio.JPG

I have a card with a radio, so I will have a go with this.  Thanks [Image: smile.gif] Guess it's about time I had a look at graphedit anyway [Image: smile.gif]

Thanks, sounds great! [Image: smile.gif]

the only problem I see is that the radio and tv tuner can't be used at the same time (atleased I can't watch tv and listen to the graph at the same time, the graph just plays the tv audio), so I guess you'll need some kind of information about weather or not the recording service is recording something.

Sub, would it be possible to add a radio station as a capture source? So you could have something like "BBC Radio One" as an option when you schedule (manual) recordings?

The graph I placed in this thread uses a software mp3 encoder 'cos I can't seem to make the hauppauge encoder do only audio.
