Today all my recordings disappeard form the list, past pending and recourring. MyTV Guide s also blank which explains the pending. My Schedule Direct account was renewed last month. Manually updating the EPG guide I got an error that the account wan not set up properly. I verified the account credentials. I tried reimporting the shows and it says they are alredy there. I verified the directory structure and the presence of the recordings. Both Avermedia 180 tuners work fine. Im on the older version because i don't have the horsepower to drive the new UI. Version 1.0.16. This has worked well for about a year untouched.

Any clues would be appreciated.

I was not able to resolve the issue nor did my system state backups work. I had picked up a virus that might have caused the issue, the virus was removed but the issue persisted. I ended up rebuilding from the OS up. The good news is I had kept all my drivers and codecs. I have a lot of devices related to running the plasma, Air keyboard, custom remote ini files and batch files. I was able to retrieve all of these and get it rebuilt in one night. Compared to the two months it originally took me originally I was happy with the outcome. The only think I lost was the directory of my recordings which is fine, it is summer and it is all reruns anyway. I can still access thru the file structure if I want. The other thing that sdved me is having the second machine in the bedroom I was able to get a copy of a serial COM driver I use for the plasma that somehow got corrupt. And yes I now have it on Avast virus protection. Firefox has kept me from getting viruses for years, I guess those days are over.

Firefox alone could never protect you from the nasties. Besides virus software, you should have at least one malware program to watch for that as well.
Malwarebytes is pretty good.

Use vidImport to get your recordings back, or gbpvr backs up the recordings for 2 days in an xml file which you can import directly,
