Hi,

Just upgraged. First, I forgot the .NET 2.0 upgrade. The installed complained about two files failed to register.
So, after the DBPVR upgrade, I did the .NET, and re-run the GBPVR setup, and chose "repair". Seemed to have worked.

But - is it expected to loose all configuraion? I have a backup of the whole "gbpvr" folder, but am I suppose to do something? just copy the config.xml?

I had to re-add the capture source, all plugins are under root menu, re-do the XML guide, everything.

Is this normal? bug? or result of my clumsiness forgetting the .NET upgrade?

Also, this is minor (using the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2), there seem to be a click sound when zapping channels. This seems to be new (also WIFE notices).

Yeah, that. Not installing .net 2.0 prior to the upgrade will cause all sorts of problems. I made it very clear in the release announcement that you had to install .net 2.0 prior to installing the upgrade.

Your best bet is to uninstall GB-PVR, delete the GB-PVR directory, reinstall the old version of GB-PVR, restore the backed up gbpvr.mdb and config.xml, the perform the upgrade again (with .net 2.0 installed this time).

Ok, worked.
From a quick review, all captures sources, channel lineup, other settings, all are here.
Only thing is missing is the menu structure. not a biggy.

And I notices something else, there's an error messege whenever leaving the live TV (using "back/exit"). I'll disable all plugins and re-check (for now mostly everything works with the old plugins).

Error disappeared when removing all old plugins. I guess I will have to add only supported ones (dah).

Also, although I went through the upgrade, and most settings did come, the directories for Audio and Video sources are gone.

Now, for the sketchy part (I know you wont believe me, there was already a guy here complained about the same...)

When I did the "backup", all I did was under C:\Program Files\devnz\ - copy and pasted the gbpvr (so I had two folders under devnz, "gbpvr" and "Copy of gbpvr").

Now, after I had to reinstall and all, I took, like you said, the gbpvr.mdb and config.xml from my backup, and copied over to the old version.
I did the upgrade again, and all fine.

Now, I noticed that config.xml was missing from the "backup" folder! The only one I found (for the Video/Audio folders recover) was one under:
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\config.xml.back

I don't remember if this was something I did manually a while ago or not. But for _sure_ a file named config.xml was deleted from an "unrelated" folder!

Just that you know...
