Anyone else having this problem?

Seems since upgrading just before Halloween, many shows I thought had simply not recorded were actaully recorded and just not showing up in the Recording page.

2 days ago, I went through the db3 and removed a bunch of entries with bad dates (made a backup first) but I still see the problem again today, so that's not the problem, this time Scooby Doo did not appear, but Bugs Bunny and Suite Life show up...

**Update: This morning, Bugs Bunny and Suite Life are now also missing form the list, even though they were in the list yesterday. Also, overnight conversion to xvid has failed.. The files are still in *.mpg format.

I might have to roll back to the prev. version.. Everything was working fine there.

============================
recording-dump.xml does not show anything from today.
============================
PostProcessing.bat:
mpg2srt.exe %1

comskip %1
rectracker %1 > rectracker.log
call comclean.bat %1
rem recycler.exe
move “%~dpn1.txt” “%~dpn1_original.txt”

rem yes, not *.mpg
del .mpg

addepisode %1 "{show} - {episode or date}"
============================
I do get a *.srt and comskip seems to have run.

Since no one was home during the day yesterday, PVRX2.exe-native.log shows no activity at that time, as does PVRX2.exe.log
============================
GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log (Doo is missing, Suite shows up, I don't see any difference in the logs...) :

Thanks.

The usual reason for files to disappear from the recording list is that they were not found when you started gbpvr and you have config.xml set to remove recordings that are not found (the default). Changing the name in the database, but not the filename, or vice-a-versa will do that. You didn't attach the pvrx2/gbpvr logs that would show that removal.

Dennit, Thanks

That's the thing, there is no mention of the missing files in PVRX2.exe.log, PVRX2.exe-native.log or any of the backups (*.1 2 or 3).

I was home while it was recording a show last night, and checked about 5 minutes after the recording was finished, and again, no listing of the show.

I also tried manually converting one of the videos by running GBConvert (since mpg to xvid is now failing) and got the log below from GBConvert.exe-native.log:

Not sure why the new one can't find xvid, when the old one is able to...Maybe because of "GB-PVR Parser2"?? I used conversion type 'xvid' as a parameter, so maybe I did that wrong?

I've backed up the 'new version' and rolled back to the 'old version'

I'm back to 1.4.7 file date is 8/30/2009 @ 4:58PM. The programs are recording, showing up, and getting converted.

I copied off the database from the backup to this machine and using SQLLiteSpy, I cannot find those missing shows in the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table.

The program entry is still in the PROGRAMME table.

I did the backup about 10 minutes after the last 'missing show' was finished recording, and I'm not seeing it, so I assume it's been erased already, or the entry failed. The file exists, comskip was run and the SRT is there. I had tried removing the call to addepisode in case that was the problem but to no avail, but it used to work before.

I suppose I could install over the old version again and see if it happens again? Maybe some setting or db changes didn't port properly.

There's a couple movies I want to watch, so I'll wait till after they record before I try upgrading again.

I've attached the full logs, etc.

This is what you would see if the recordings were being removed automatically by GBPVR. Your GBPVR.exe.log says you still have config set to autoremove missing recordings:
Code:
2008-05-16 20:12:17.575    VERBOSE    [1]    getValue: /settings/AutoRemoveMissingRecordings : true

I didn't see it removing any, but maybe I missed it. Why don't you turn this off (set it to "false" in config.xml) and see if your recordings stop disappearing.

I tried changing the setting to false in the xml but the problem persisted.
I switched back to the old version for a few days to ensure all was stable and working.

Another backup, and I upgraded again, ensuring that all processes remotely related (including the Ubustream service) were not running.

This time the upgrade looks like to went OK.

Been running a few days now.

I dunno, bad upgrade for some reason? Maybe the service didn't shutdown or, I see this enought when developing .net applications, Explorer.exe has a lock on one of the files.

Either way, all seems good now. Thanks dennit and sub.
